Sometimes the best advice is the simplest.

Go for a walk.

Not to hit a step count. Not to train for anything. Not to climb a mountain.

Just to move your body.
To breathe a little deeper. To notice what's around you. To create a little space between you and whatever is weighing on your mind.

Because walks can do more than we often give them credit for.

🌿 Spending time in nature can help lower stress levels and improve mood.
🌿 Movement can help reduce feelings of anxiety and support better mental wellbeing.
🌿 Walking alongside others can help us feel more connected and less alone.

At Mind Over Mountains, these ideas sit at the heart of everything we do. Our wellbeing walks combine nature, movement, mindfulness and professional mental health support to help people walk, talk and connect outdoors.

Our vision is for nature-based mental health support to become the norm - commissioned, prescribed and accessible to everyone who could benefit from it.

Because right now, 1 in 4 people in England will experience a mental health problem this year, and 1 in 6 people are experiencing a common mental health problem such as anxiety or depression in any given week.

Support matters. And sometimes it starts with something as simple as putting one foot in front of the other. 💚

Yesterday's 8 miles around Milford Common and Shugborough Estate + a bonus 5.3 back round the canal. Only to get back to the car to find it won't start (!) New battery provided courtesy of (£279 later!!) by RAC. Unfortunately this resulted in a missed opportunity to bump into Oldham Groundhopper at Penkridge on his Land's End to John O' Groats walk. Anyways, hot and bothered, lighter wallet and now suffering with heat rash on my lower legs. Had long trousers on so not sun burn. Stay hydrated out there folks.
