The Ring-necked Parakeets are now populating areas in the midlands. This one was spotted last weekend whilst out & about 📸
Whilst they are lovely looking birds, they're not native to the UK and are classed as an invasive species. In areas where their numbers are high, they compete with our native birds for adequate nesting sites, thus adding to the decline of native birds in the area.
