MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG AND DRIVING OFFENCES

On 05/09/26 at around 00:05 officers stopped a black VW Golf on Saxon Mill Lane due to being seen driving with no lights on.

Upon speaking with the driver, officers could smell alcohol and a roadside breath test was conducted to which they blew over the legal limit.

In addition to this, officers located class A drugs within the vehicle.

Further checks revealed that the vehicle was being driven without insurance and the driver did not have a valid licence.

The 19-year-old male, from Belgrave, was arrested for drink driving, possession of a class A drug and dealt with for driving offences.

He has since been released under investigation.

BURGLARY IN MENDIP WAY

On 06/09/2026 at around 03:30 four unknown masked males forced entry to an address in Mendip Way and stole items from within.

They made an untidy search of the property and threatened the occupants.

Nobody was injured and stolen items were found discarded in the garden.

FORD TRANSIT STOLEN FROM CROWDEN RD

At around 23:50 on 06/09/2026 unknown offenders stole a 15-plate white Ford Transit Custom without keys from Crowden Road near to Camhouses.

The offenders are believed to have been in a silver vehicle.

To the owner of the grey focus estate B***FY (redacted by admin) driving through a pedestrian crossing on a red light by Landau Amington. How you didn't see the light or the people crossing or even the beeping sounds with your window down baffles me. The amount of cars I'm seeing lately driving through red lights is crazy, somebody is going to be hurt soon.

| Earlier today (01/09/2026), at around 17:20 a motorbike was stolen from the Snowdome car park.

The 65-plate black, white & green Kawasaki Z800 was parked in the car park opposite the entrance and near to the bridge leading to Kettlebrook.

The offenders arrived on two other motorbikes with no registration plates. The one stealing the bike was wearing grey while the other two wore dark clothing but had quite distinctive helmets.

They came across the bridge and were seen taking the bike back across the bridge towards Kettlebrook.

They were last seen in the Dosthill area heading in the direction of Kinsgbury.

A Tamworth man who murdered his wife in a frenzied attack has been jailed for life with a minimum of 20 years.

The court heard how on 23 June 2025 Robert Alexander, 67, called 999 to tell police he had murdered his wife.

Friends and family of Christina, a nurse of 40 years, have paid tribute to her memory.

Her brother Neil said: “Tina was somebody that throughout her life just wanted to help people.

“From a young age, she wanted to follow in our mother’s footsteps and become a nurse. We have been trying our hardest to remember all the happy memories of my sister, she was always there for all her brothers and sisters. Robert can cowardly take away my sister’s life but he can never take away our memories.”

Alexander said he had killed Christina because of an argument over finances but then remained silent in interview. During the investigation it was established he stabbed her 77 times, strangled her and struck her head with a tin.

He pleaded not guilty to murder by way of diminished responsibility but was found guilty by unanimous verdict in June and was today, 1 September, at Stafford Crown Court, sentenced to life with a minimum of 20 years in prison.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Charlotte Naughton said: “This was a devastating incident, where Christina’s life was violently ended too soon.

“No sentence will bring Christina back, however I hope our investigation is able to provide some closure to Christina’s loved ones.

“Domestic abuse remains one of the most harmful and pervasive crimes we face. Warwickshire Police is committed to taking robust action against those who perpetrate abuse, controlling behaviour and violence.”

The family of a ‘wonderful’ man who died after a collision in Tamworth have paid tribute to him.

Officers were called at 1.35pm on Thursday 30 July to Pennine Way, at the junction of Ealingham, following reports of a collision involving a silver Nissan Juke and a white Ford van.

The driver of the Nissan, 77-year-old Graham Barlow from Tamworth, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sadly, Graham died on Sunday 9 August.

Paying tribute to him, Graham’s family said: “Our husband, dad, grandad and great-grandad was truly one of the best men you could ever have the privilege of knowing. A lovely gentleman with a heart of gold, who always put others before himself. He was our safety, our hero and the heart of our family.

“He was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, wider family, friends and everyone who knew him."

👮‍♂️ Another positive result in our ongoing efforts to tackle off-road bike nuisance and criminality in Tamworth.

This morning, a 19-year-old man from Glascote was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including assault, criminal damage, taking a vehicle without consent, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, possession of a Class B drug, and breach of a court order.

During the arrest, officers seized two Sur-Ron electric bikes believed to have been used in crime.

We know the significant impact illegal off-road bikes and anti-social behaviour have on our communities. Rest assured, we remain committed to identifying offenders, taking positive action, and removing vehicles used unlawfully from our streets.
