The collapse of the Spey Viaduct has shocked communities across Moray. Built in 1883 to carry the Moray Coast Railway across the River Spey, the viaduct has since been a popular route for walkers and cyclists following its closure in the late 60s.
The scale of the damage is striking when seen up close. The sheer force required to twist these massive girders is difficult to imagine.
