After a lovely few months off with my own newborn the books are now reopened for Saturday and Sunday sessions.
I’m jumping back behind the lens with an even deeper appreciation for family photography and let me tell you why. Over the last 12 months I have lost both of my nan’s and had my first daughter, all huge life events which have taught me two different things about photography:
1. The power of printing your photos. After losing both nan’s one of the most beautiful moments was opening their boxes full of photos and looking through them with the family. Not only did it remind me of all the wonderful memories we’d created together but it was the photos I’d never seen before and the stories behind them that taught me even more about my nan’s. In a hugely digital world having something to physically hold onto at the end of a loved ones journey was invaluable, so don’t forget to hit print and print your images big! 📸
2. Since falling pregnant I’ve had two professional photoshoots, one maternity session and one mother and baby session. Heading into both sessions did I feel as glamorous as I’d hoped, honestly no🤪😂 BUT did the session serve a purpose in capturing the moment my body did something incredible and the fleeting moment in time where I could hold my whole world in my arms ABSOLUTELY! It’s hugely reminded me that capturing these moments in motherhood and parenthood is what my business is all about, I look back now and am so glad I did it. So my advice is to book that session with your favourite photographer you will never regret it! 💞
