✨ THINGS YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IS TOO POLITE TO TELL YOU - Part 2 ✌️ ✨

Today tip is that “Golden Hour should not be optional!”

Golden hour is that glorious orange sunset that doesn’t happen as often as you’d think it dies (although this summer may have been an exception to the rule)!!

So if it does happen on your wedding day (you lucky ducks) then you need to be ready to go when your photographer says its time!

The best way to do this is PLAN AHEAD! Make sure there is nothing planned in that hour before sunset that you and your new husband or wife can’t duck away from for 20 minutes. Trust me what I say your conversation with aunt Dorris can wait! But more importantly don’t plan anything during that time that you would be devastated to miss!

✨ BROGAN & LUKE ✨

What a privilege it was to be part of their French manor wedding! And this time it wasn’t actually as their photographer, but as their bridesmaid!

Everything about this wedding was thought out to a tee, but nothing tops their incredibly special ceremony with some of the most personal vows and readings ✨

As I couldn’t walk down the aisle and photograph it at the same time the phenomenally talented Lilybut Photography captured the whole day with some of the most stunning photos and I can’t wait to see the rest of the album to come!

Luckily for me Lily was also gracious enough to let me gate crash their couple portraits because days like this in the French countryside do not come around often! I basically stalked Lily, Brogan and Luke like a ninja with a camera for 30 mins and I am so glad I did because how magical ate these photos!! 💫

Days like this not only remind me how lucky I am to work with such special couples but how incredibly generous and supportive wedding suppliers can be to each other!!

My brain physically can’t cope once they are too full

Who can be bring them selves to do boring invoicing when the screen has dreamy shots like this!

I hand wrote all my social media posts in a notebook

I have 6 different files in my phone all names similar things because when they get too full I can’t use them anymore (my brain just shuts down)

Have 26,000 unread emails in my personal email account (I promise my business one is a lot more organised)

Take 2 weeks to invoice anyone for anything (because who can be bothered to invoice when the photos on screen are that dreamy)

Keep random screenshots as inspo instead of using Pinterest boards (Although I usually have 3 of those on the go too)

Trust future me way more than I should (although I have to give her credit she’s usually right)

Turns out you can be both organised enough to run a business and chaotic enough to have 198 tabs open on your phone at the same time 💫

✨ The Michaels ✨

I’m lucky enough to call this gorgeous little family my besties and to say I was excited to photograph their newest addition!

Fun story about this shoot though, this little one decided to show up early to life (about 3 weeks before he was supposed to) and so landed earth side 3 days into a house move! This sofa literally arrived about an hour before our shoot and we were unpacking cushions and throws together when I got there!

It just shows not everything has to be perfect to get the perfect photos!

As usual I’m late posting photos and he’s now 6 months old, giggles at everything and does a brilliant God Father impression when sat in any chair!

I also cant not mention big brother Pablo 🐾 it wouldn’t be a Michael family photoshoot without him!

✨ THINGS YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IS TOO POLITE TO TELL YOU ✨

If you are thinking of doing an unplugged ceremony (which I highly recommend) then make it clear to everyone what that means!

Most guests respect this (and most of the others don’t necessarily realise they are going against your wishes) but some guests:-
💫 may genuinely not have heard or read the unplugged announcement
💫 don’t realise that after your first kiss still counts as part of the ceremony (especially your exit as a couple)

Kindly make it clear that they do not need their phones again until the have physically left the ceremony space if thats what you as a couple want! It also makes a photographers job so much easier 📷
