What a difference two weeks can make….

A wet and windy night tonight vs my view from two weeks ago, as the sunsets, Battle of Britain Class 34070 “Manston” was being warmed ready to return to service the next day, from the temporary steam ban, whilst one of the Pway Gang use the RRV Vehicles to load up some barrels down by the fuel point.

Just shows the railway never stops no matter what time of day it is! 👏🏻

A long weekend in South Wales…

A weekend up up in south wales visiting family, but we still managed to squeeze into some railway activity!

First up was a visit to Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway for their Running Day yesterday, with Ex GWR Pacer “143612” on passenger runs and Sentinel Diesel “10222” on driver for river runs, it’s was a good hour spent looking around the site and hearing from the volunteers about the progress that has been made since my last visit.

This was followed with a visit to Gwili Steam Railway this morning to see GWR 55xx Prairie “5521” in action, I was caught out by how overgrown the location have become since my last visit and was very grateful the rain held off so that I could get the drone up to catch her near Bronwydd Arms and the Cricket Ground as she’s made her way up to Danycoed. A quick stop off to have a look at Moorbarrow & Haulwen on shed, I must say I’m big fan of Haulwen in her NCB paint livery, looking forward to catching her in service soon! 👌🏻
