For some parents, September means school uniforms, new teachers and new routines. For new mums, it’s a completely different kind of new beginning. Those first few weeks with your baby are a whirlwind of feeds, cuddles, very little sleep and wondering how someone so tiny can take up quite so much of your heart.

September really does have a personality of its own, doesn’t it? One minute we’re still pretending it’s summer and the next there’s rain in the forecast and everyone suddenly talking about school timetables and packed lunches.

After yesterday’s rain, I’m hoping today brings a little more sunshine. There’s something about a rainy September day that makes a sleeping newborn look even more perfect though. Warm studio, soft blankets, sleepy baby and absolutely nowhere else you need to be.

Meanwhile, the school run is back, alarms are going off far too early and parents everywhere are trying to remember which child needs which PE kit.

Right, hello!

Firstly, an apology for the radio silence around here over the last week. We disappeared off to The Long Road Country Music Festival for a few days and, quite frankly, I’m only just starting to dry out!

It was brilliant though. Country music, great company, far too much food and enough mud to make me question every life decision I’ve ever made involving footwear. 😂

I’m back in the studio now and catching up with everything, including sharing some of the gorgeous little people we've been photographing recently.

Back to reality, back to editing and back to cuddling tiny babies. I can think of worse jobs.

💙 **A little August update…**

We’re now pretty much full for newborn bookings throughout August. I’ve had a few phone calls this week from new parents whose babies have arrived, but they’re struggling to find availability with photographers across the Midlands.

August is always tricky as many photographers take well-earned holidays during the school break, which means I tend to take on more sessions than I really should to try and help. I’m genuinely sorry to anyone I can’t fit in, but I really can’t push myself any further without compromising the experience and quality I provide.

So if you’re expecting a September or October baby, **please get in touch sooner rather than later**. 💙
