📸 Choosing your photographer?

We all love a good bargain 😂 but when it comes to photography, there’s more to consider than the price tag and how far you have to drive.

Before booking, take a look through their portfolio and ask yourself:

✨ Do I love the look of their photos?
✨ Do I love their editing style?
✨ Is their work consistent?
✨ Do I love how they capture connection and little details?
✨ Can I see myself loving my photos in their style?

And especially with newborn photography, there’s something even more important:

👶 Have they had proper newborn posing and safety training?

Your baby’s safety should always come first. Look for someone who understands safe newborn handling, supporting baby’s head and neck, safe use of props and, importantly, when a pose shouldn’t be attempted.

Beautiful photos are lovely, but a safe, calm and experienced photographer is worth so much more. 🤍

And then there’s Pinterest! 😍

Pinterest is fantastic for inspiration, but it doesn’t mean your photographer can recreate an image exactly.

No two photographers shoot or edit in exactly the same way. Lighting, posing, lenses, camera settings, editing and their creative eye all make a difference. The same setup can look completely different depending on who is behind the camera.

That’s why their existing portfolio is so important.

Rather than asking someone to copy another photographer’s work, find the photographer whose own style makes you think:

YES! That’s exactly what I want!🥰

When choosing, think about:

🤎 Portfolio & editing style
🤎 Experience & training
🤎 Newborn safety knowledge
🤎 The overall experience
🤎 And most importantly… whether you LOVE their work!

Price and location matter, but they don’t have to be the only deciding factors.

You’re investing in memories you’ll treasure for years, so choose someone whose work and approach you genuinely love. ✨
