When you get an email from The High Sheriff for Staffordshire, you've got to go and meet him and his friends...

They just happen to be his wife, the new Lord mayor of Stoke, the Staffordshire Wildlife Chief Executive and Louise Morris, the Head of the TTTV (Transforming The Trent Valley) project and some Canal and River Trust volunteers who were working on the "Yard Lock".

They were cycling along the towpath through Stone today and were greeted by the Deputy Mayor of Stone and the Mayor of Stafford.

They were also really interested in Stafford and Stone Canoe Club and wanted to hear of the clubs successes with 2016 Rio's gold medalist Joe Clark and Team GB's Adam Burgess who will be competing in Tokyo next month, both of who are from the club.

Jamie has been drumming up publicity for Staffordshire, and is also a modest fund raiser. He has walked, cycled and is planning to canoe down the River Trent from the Trent's Head in Biddulph to Burton over various days, visiting some of the wildlife works on the river, including the SUNRISE Project in Stoke and then primarily the TTTV (Transforming The Trent Valley) Projects from Wolseley Bridge down.

Louise Morris from the TTTV project has done most of the organising, and organised for the team to bicycle today from Staffordshire University at Stoke Campus to Wolseley Bridge , following mostly the canal towpath with bits of NCR 5, National Cycle Route 5, which is actually the towpath from Stoke Station to Stone.

Jamie, The High Sheffif is actually a dairy farmer from Mucklestone near Loggerheads on the River Tern with a passion for rivers and wetlands.

It was a great meeting them all :-)

I've had an enquiry today about passport photos. It's something that I don't offer but someone needed them doing. It seems that photobooths have been closed off in a lot of places and after a bit of digging I found this app https://passport-photo.online/en-gb/passport-online-photo
