A little bit about me...
I currently work full time as a receptionist at the vets and trying to build my photography so one day I can move over to being a full time photographer. I also have a growing collection of house plants, and am currently trying to teach myself how to make my own plant pots! I do draw, when I can commit pencil to paper, and love working with bold colours on a black backgro
und! I will admit I'm also a bit of a petrol head, which is why I've started to explore automotive photography, and I'm a sucker for Land Rover Defender... old or new. I got my first camera when I was 12, so 2014. It was a Nikon D5300 with a 18-55mm lens, and Christmas of that year I received a 55-300mm lens. This camera has been my life and soul, an extension of my arm, for 7 years! I finally decided to upgrade this year to a Nikon D850 and what a beast she is! figuring out how to use it! and 2. Saving up to expand my lens collection as I'm currently working with a beautiful, gifted vintage Nikon 80-200mm lens, with a broken autofocus motor so I'm being forced to be a proper photographer and use manual focus! My main interest has always lay in sport photography, being an equestrian myself, I attend riding lessons and clinics to capture beautiful moments between horse and rider when it all starts to work... and sometimes when you part ways! However, since the Covid lockdowns I have started to explore more areas of photography, such as automotive and portrait and hope to continue to try new things. I completed an A Level in photography (achieving an A *) in 2020 and during so, explored Landscape, Portrait, Still Life and, of course, Sport. During my two years studying I learnt a range of skills including the use of studio lighting, how to maximise natural lighting, panning and tracking. I'm competent in Photoshop and Lightroom, so always give my images the extra 'ka-chow!' they need to make you go wow, and am currently trying to find my own unique style that can be recognisable without a logo - a seemingly long process being a perfectionist! I have seconded at a few weddings in 2021, with the aim to work towards being a wedding photographer in years to come. My first solo gig is, in fact, in February 2022 for my Uncle and his Fiancé! Exciting times for the New Year. Em x
