Really inspired by this brilliant piece from Hannah Hiles highlighting the passion and creativity behind Longton’s Town of Culture bid 👏
What stands out most is the incredible opportunity this creates for our younger generation. From creative pathways for 14–30 year olds to free activities for families, this isn’t just about a title — it’s about opening doors, building confidence and giving young people the chance to shape the future of their town.
It’s also amazing to see local talent like 19-year-old filmmaker Ellie Meredith stepping up and showing exactly what’s possible when young people are given a platform. Her work captures not just where Longton has come from, but where it can go next.
This bid that is being led by Urban Wilderness CIC, is about pride, potential and possibility - breathing new life into spaces, celebrating our heritage and investing in the next generation.
