Hello everyone! Really hope 2025 has started well for you all. A little business announcement here….
You may have noticed, I’ve been rather useless at keeping active on social platforms over the last year and in honesty, I’ve struggled to find the time alongside regular work and family life to share my photography and also manage new projects coming in. This has led to some reflection and after almost 5 years (and over 150 photoshoots!), I’ve made the decision to switch my photography back to being my most beloved of hobbies.
At this point, family time at weekends is my priority and I’m conscious how fast the years roll by. I absolutely love standing on a sideline cheering on my son and his football team or playing dance mum to my beautiful daughter…less so playing taxi to them both but that’s all part of the deal!
I’m proud to have overcome the ridiculous imposter syndrome to have set this all up in the first place and am so grateful to the wonderful people (and pooches!) that have allowed me to capture memories and trusted me with that task. It still feels surreal to think that people have actually paid me for the honour of photographing them and then placed my images on the walls in their homes, into photo-books to gift to family or even on websites to promote their businesses…utterly bonkers!
I’m leaving this chapter by sharing a photo that is really at the heart of where this whole photography journey began - ‘Sara, the friend with the camera’. I took this shot of Kevin the dog over the Christmas hols after bumping into a friend in our local park. I happened to have my camera with me, when I saw Kevin shyly tuck himself away to rest his head between my friend’s dad’s wellies (who was walking him that day). Her poor dad was totally baffled as to what this crazy woman with a camera was doing, bending down to photograph his crotch but hope you agree it made for too sweet a moment not to go for it and explain after!
All that’s left to say is thank you so much for supporting my little business over the years and following along. My passion for photography has not waned but life shifts and with that, priorities change. I will keep the page active for those that would like to keep following as I am hoping to still be able to share some of my hobby shots from time to time. To my friends and family, be prepared as I’m coming back to snap you all!!
Best wishes, Sara 🌻📸
