As it was such a clear night from the back garden, I thought I would wonder up the hill where there was less light pollution, being able to see the Milky Way from just up the road from me is a sight to see!

A panorama of the Senga hills in Malawi, situated east of Lilongwe and sitting next to lake Malawi. I took this because one of the locals was telling me this was his view every morning as he cycled into work! For a country with so much poverty, they know how rich in beauty their home is!!

Last week I had the opportunity of a life time laid out in front of me, I was part of the team of British Army photographers chosen to cover the events in Normandy for the 75th anniversary of D-Day, it was one of the most humbling moments of my life, watching thousands turn out to show their gratitude for the veterans and the fallen, not many moments in life have I had a lump in my throat and nearly brought to tears, but this was one of those very rare occasions. Thankyou for our today.

Whilst on a job in Dartmoor on a weekend of work, a colleague and I ventured into a little bowl of land to get away from any light pollution, this is the out come of one of the images. Such a beautiful sky and area of the country.

Today I had the privilege of photographing at the Royal Armoured Corps 80th anniversary help all across the uk, the event I covered was held in Bovington tank museum where veterans of world war 2 from the Royal Armoured Corps had chance to see the new exhibition and talk to phase 2 students along with demonstrations of old and new equipment.

Another of my street photos, showing the extent at which the city of Siracusa has aged, the buildings on the left are abandoned and derelict, just the other side of them sits the Mediterranean ocean, cars pass by ignorant to the history in which these buildings have seen. On the right sit aged old buildings that are still occupied, with some currently undergoing surgery to revive them back to a state which will allow them to stay occupied.

As previously mentioned in an earlier image, I witnessed the extent of poverty on the island of Sicily, and how the contrast really shows within the infrastructure! Here is an image I took on my recent visit to the island, I came across this setup, on the left is a very new, modern and clean building, and on the right is an old, rundown building slowly on its way to perish!

An image of an old house on the island of Sicily in the western town of Siracusa. During my trip to the island I witnessed some of the evidence of poverty, an old abandoned house, it is apparent that at some point in its life, it has succumb to perish, whether the reason be with age or destruction through conflict! It was interesting to see the contrast of the infrastructure upon the island. More to follow.
