Most people think a wedding is about the ceremony.

The vows.
The rings.
The first kiss.

But those moments pass in seconds.

What stays are the quieter moments in between.

The look that says, “We made it.”
The hand that reaches instinctively for the person who feels like home.
The silence that needs no words because everything that matters has already been said.

As we wandered through the gardens, it felt as though the world slowed down for a little while. No guests. No schedules. No distractions. Just two people taking a breath and realising that this was the beginning of the rest of their story.

That is what I love most about wedding photography.

Not creating memories.

Preserving the moments that would otherwise disappear.

This little lad looks like he’s halfway through a furious complaint to management.

Meet the chaffinch — one of Britain’s most colourful and charismatic garden birds.

Despite weighing less than a chocolate bar, male chaffinches produce one of the most recognisable songs in the woodland. They’re tiny, territorial and absolutely convinced they own the place.

Captured in Sussex on the Nikon Z6III while this feathered drama queen appeared to be delivering a strongly worded speech to the entire forest.

Ever wondered what pure joy looks like?

This.

A nuthatch turning an ordinary puddle into its own private water park.

These remarkable little birds are famous for running headfirst down tree trunks — something almost no other British bird can do. But every now and then they stop being woodland acrobats and become enthusiastic bathers instead.

The explosion of water only lasted a fraction of a second, but it was enough to reveal the wild side of one of our most charismatic woodland birds.

Nature doesn’t always pose for the camera. Sometimes it throws water everywhere and hopes for the best.

If garden birds had a VIP section, the bullfinch would be on the guest list.

With its chunky build, jet-black cap and unmistakable colours, the bullfinch looks like it knows it’s one of Britain’s most handsome birds.

This one was caught enjoying a spring feast, helping itself to fresh buds with absolutely no concern for the gardener’s feelings. In fact, bullfinches have been known to drive fruit growers mad by nibbling developing buds before they ever get the chance to bloom.

Beautiful? Absolutely.

Innocent? Not a chance.
