Well, it’s nearly time for school to start, which also means it’s nearly time for the dancing season to begin!
And for us, this year is a little bit special as it’ll be Hannah’s first year in a competition team.
I won’t lie, I wasn’t completely convinced at first. At 4½, she’s still so young, but after seeing just how much she loved performing at the shows in June, I knew we had to let her give it a go!
I’ve got a feeling we’re in for a very exciting year…

A wee throwback from the archives to freshen up the grid.
It’s funny how different types of shoots seem to come in batches, and it’s been a wee while since I’ve done a gym shoot like this.
Rachel was such a natural in front of the camera, which made this one a lot of fun to shoot.
I really love how these turned out, and looking back through some of the older shoots has definitely reminded me how much I enjoy this style of photography.
Might be time to get another gym shoot in the diary!

This was such a fun shoot the other day, and there are so many great photos still to share, but this is probably my favourite from the day.
No, it isn't framed perfectly. Yep, I've chopped part of poor Eilidh out, But honestly… I just love it!
Sometimes the photos that aren't quite "perfect" are the ones that capture the moment best.

It’s been a wee while since I last did an individual dancer shoot, but I absolutely love doing these!
They often start out a little nervous, but by the end it’s brilliant to see that confidence grow as they realise just what they can do.
And something I never really set out for these shoots to be is an analytical tool, but I absolutely love seeing the dancers and their parents discussing form, posture and technique throughout the shoot.
It ends up becoming so much more than just a confidence boost, it’s a chance to see, analyse and celebrate everything they’re capable of.

Colour or black & white? 🤔
A wee change of direction for this shoot…
I've worked with Suzi a couple of times now, usually shooting her on the ice and showing off her own Frozen Couture training wear in action.
This weekend we decided to try something a little different and take things off the ice for a proper portrait shoot.
And I think the results speak for themselves!
I really love how much of Suzi's personality shines through in these, from the dramatic shots to the big smiles.
Thanks as always, Suzi, for trusting me to try something a wee bit different!

You don't have to be a skater to get in front of the camera!
This wee one was there cheering everyone on, and was quite possibly the cutest little supporter there!
