A rare sunny day last year along the Leeds Liverpool Canal near Chorley. One for the 2026 Chorley Calendar I think. I am hoping that this year we will have a bit of summer then I can do more walks with my camera.(c) Jacquisara's photography

A solitary walker above the clouds at Church Stretton, Shropshire.

On the edge - a solitary walker is silhouetted against a rolling sea of clouds above Church Stretton. This shot was taken at sunset on a recent visit to Caer Caradoc, and the Long Mynd can be seen rising above the mist on the horizon. I thought I had the landscape all to myself, but I was delighted when this figure walked into view and added a sense of scale to the picture.

I'm lucky to be surrounded by beautiful countryside, where I live near Chorley. This is taken on the Leeds Liverpool Canal near Whittle Springs and is the front cover for my calendar. More images of the surrounding area can be found in my Chorley Calendar 2023 www.facebook.com/chorleycalendar

Crystal clear - and barely a breath of wind to disturb this early-morning reflection at Ironbridge, Shropshire. The River Severn is currently very low, making it easy to spot small fish darting among the rocks just below the surface. I always keep my wellies in the car, so I was able to walk a short distance into the water to get this shot.

Beautiful Shrewsbury - my view of Church Street and St Alkmund’s. On the right is the Prince Rupert Hotel, named after the Royalist commander who stayed here during the Civil War. Prince Rupert of the Rhine was a nephew of Charles I, and he became extremely unpopular when his army looted the town and countryside.

Misty sunrise at Ludlow Castle in Shropshire.

The mists of time - shafts of light fall across Ludlow Castle at sunrise, as St George’s flag flutters above the medieval walls. I was standing on Whitcliffe Common when I took this shot, and Brown Clee can be seen on the horizon with its twin summits of Abdon Burf and Clee Burf. A wonderful view - and one that never fails to impress.

Springtime in Shropshire - a thatched cottage, pink blossom and a host of golden daffodils, with Wenlock Edge in the background. This is Harley, one of the so-called Thankful Villages, which saw all its men return home safely from the First World War.
