LIGHT IT RIGHT: PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY & LIGHTING

TUESDAY 13TH OCTOBER 2026

This coming Tuesday evening, club member and interior still life and portrait photographer, Jon Green, will be sharing his approach to using light in order to get the best out of an image.

With a practical element being included, members are encouraged to bring their cameras.

Promises to be an enlightening evening ! !

Our meetings commence at 7.30 pm - but please aim to arrive by 7.20 pm at the latest, so we can kick off on time.

The Club's first competition of the season was held on Tuesday 6th October - with a varied selection of images being entered.

Featured below - three of the top scoring images - well done to Mark Sutton, Ed Valletta and Karen Pearce.

With many thanks to experienced judge Dave Stewart for coming along to judge on the evening.

Dave congratulated the members on some excellent images - all of which he found enjoyable to judge.

This Tuesday - 6th October 2026 - 7.30 pm - the first of our internal competitions.

We welcome back Dave Stewart from the North and East Midlands Photographic Federation and member of the Deepings Camera Club, who will be judging for us.

This Tuesday - 29th September 2026 - we are pleased to welcome Keith Millard to St Neots who will be giving his talk -

"TURNER, THE IMPRESSIONISTS AND ME"

Keith, a member of Milton Keynes City Photographic Society, will feature many of his creative images, the inspiration behind them and some of his approaches in their creation.

TUESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER 2026
7.30 pm

We are pleased to welcome back Daniel Bridge to St Neots with his talk on Abstract and Minimalism Photography.

Daniel's talk looks at ways to refine and simplify compositions, creating abstract images from a variety of different subjects - making use of techniques such as:
- Intentional Camera Movement (ICM)
- long exposures
- making use of windows and doors to frame a view
- and more.

TUESDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER - 7.30 PM

Whether you're a new or existing member who maybe hasn't entered any prints into our competitions before, you'll find our "How To" evening a good start on how to do it !

We'll also be going over how to prepare and save your digital images ready for entering competitions.
(A good reminder for all members !)

All images whether entered as either a digital or print entry are projected on the evening (we project a digital version of the print entries so the wider audience can easily see the image - although the judge will be focusing on the actual print itself)

INTERESTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY - THEN DO COME ALONG TO OUR OPEN EVENING - TUESDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER 2026 - 7.30 PM

Our Summer Break is nearly at an end and our members are looking forward to meeting up again on Tuesday evenings.

Our new season commences on Tuesday 8th September and, as we do every year, we invite anyone interested in photography to come along and meet some of our existing members, have a chat over a cuppa and find out what we have scheduled for the months ahead.

Watch out for details of our Programme for the 2026-2027 Season - which will be published very soon.

Our meeting venue is the Club House of the Outdoor Bowling Club in St Neots - St Anselm Place PE19 1AP - with plenty of nearby parking.

In the meantime, do also make a note of the date of our Annual Exhibition - taking place on 7th November at the United Reform Church in St Neots. Further details to follow.
