Wedding season begins again for me this week! So i thought I'd share what usually happens with me...before your big day!
Your Wedding day isn't the first day I will be preparing....
Usually, depending how far in advance you book your Wedding with me, we will have already had a couple of chats, one when booking in going over main details, then again as we get closer to the date going into more details of the day and gaining a more specific idea of your wants as a couple. After this we will have had a meet up in person, typically at your venue, either a rehearsal or pre-arranged meet for us to walk through ideas and locations, this saves us some decisions and questions on the day! Venue and time permitting of course!
The good thing that comes with years of experience is getting to know a variety of Weddings; timelines, trends, styles and locations. With being familiar with local venues i can already share my experience of what can work if its a venue i know well. From this, we can create our timeline together, including all that you want on your special day.
The week before your Wedding i begin to prepare any travel details, check equipment, gather my kit, and start packing my bag to ensure we have all we need to cover the day, giving space and time to ensure everything is present, charged and working correctly! As well as doing a final curation of timeline, schedule and shots lists........ also checking the weather forecast!
The day before your wedding i will check in with you...Happy day before your Wedding day! :) Again, double checking kit, lists and schedule, giving myself the rest of the day before to continue to memorize and mentally prepare for the 6-12 hours of intense shooting that is about to begin! .... also checking the weather forecast, again!!
Making sure i get a good nights sleep the night before is paramount, as believe it or not, even after years of shooting Weddings the pre-wedding day nerves still happen! The anxiety of remembering it all and capturing your day often means concentrating on an early night is my hardest prep! But one i place with utmost importance! Worry is completely natural if you care about your work. Even after many years. Its what helps you prepare, make time for it - Then get to sleep! ....Not before checking the weather forecast for any changes!!
On the day i will wish you a Happy Wedding day........ checking the weather forecast yet again! I grab a good brekkie, get ready and am prepared to ensure I arrive in good time and greet you with a smile at the Aisle :)
There is so much more to it than just turning up on the day! 🤍📷
