The Wreck:

As she lays on the river bed,
broken, with her heart exposed;
her beauty and her strength runs deeper than is seen by those who judge her.

Each day, the power of the ocean pulls her deeper into the abyss, and yet, she continues to rise above the waves.
Not ready to embrace the darkness that threatens
to carry her away.

She cries out to those who will listen to her story.
For her tale is not a sad one, it is but a reminder to lost souls.
To those who wander along the shore
feeling as if there is no hope and no light.

She reminds them that they too can rise above the constant battering of life's oceans.
She is the one who shares their fears, but also understands their worth.
She knows that they must fight, to live and to feel loved again.
I, for one, am very glad she exists.

I had the pleasure of photographing for Farleigh Hospice this weekend for two of their big events. What an amazing group of people I met along the way including the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Mrs Jennifer Tolhurst. The weekend started with the Farleigh Hospice Fete followed by the cycle event on the Sunday. The organisers did an amazing job, as did all the volunteers and the cyclists that I met were all great sports for the camera. These are just a few of my favourites from the two days.
