Well… here goes my best Gwyneth Paltrow impression…
And just like that… after 10½ years, it’s time to say goodbye to DoodleShots. ❤️
After a lot of thought, I have finally had to make the incredibly difficult decision to call time on my wedding photography journey, due to my eye health.
10½ years… thousands of photographs, hundreds of couples, countless venues, happy tears, sore feet, early mornings, late nights, some wonderful memories and, of course, a few moments that made me question some of my life choices! 😂 It really has been an amazing experience, and I am incredibly grateful for the journey I’ve had.
A huge THANK YOU to every single one of my amazing couples who trusted me enough to choose DoodleShots to capture one of the most important days of their lives. It has genuinely been an honour and an absolute pleasure to be part of so many special days, and I hope you know just how much I have loved doing it.
And to all of the incredible venues who welcomed us and had DoodleShots as recommended suppliers — thank you! A very special mention has to go to the Holiday Inn Southend, especially Hayley & Suzanna. It has genuinely been a pleasure working with you and the team over the years. ❤️
So… the DoodleShots sign is officially down. 😭
I still have two weddings left this month, and then that really will be it.
All of my couples booked for next year have now been refunded their deposits. (And, I’m not going to lie, that one was a bit of a blow to the old bank account… so if you happen to be passing, come and buy a Doodle Brew ! 😂☕️)
I honestly cannot thank all of next year’s couples enough for being so understanding and kind about the situation. I have, of course, recommended some of my amazing photography colleagues to them, and I know they will be in very safe hands.
**A little note for all my past couples:** if you currently have a gallery live on the website, it will remain available until **mid-May 2027**, so please make sure you have downloaded your photographs and have them safely backed up before then. If you have any questions or need any help, just give me a shout.
And then there’s my bestie Katy. ❤️
Thank you, as always, for having my back, keeping me sane and making me giggle at every single wedding. I honestly couldn’t have done so many of those crazy days without you by my side.
It’s been emotional. It’s been exhausting. It’s been hilarious. It’s been stressful. It’s been an absolute privilege.
I’ve met some incredible people, made some wonderful friends, worked with some amazing suppliers and venues, and been lucky enough to witness so many beautiful moments.
As difficult as it is to say goodbye, it’s time for me to put my eyesight first and call it a day. ❤️
So, to every single person who has worked with DoodleShots over the last 10½ years — thank you. Thank you for trusting me, recommending me, welcoming me, laughing with me and allowing me to do something I have loved so much for so long.
I’m not disappearing completely though! If any fellow togs ever need a second shooter, I’m still more than happy to come along and help out where I can. I just won’t be able to take on any editing work after my final weddings.
So here’s to the last two weddings, the final few DoodleShots galleries and the end of a very special chapter.
