#2 of my Birds of Prey set taken at . That Saker Falcon was just fabulous, and in this shot, it felt as if he was checking out whether I was prey or not! Love the dynamism of the turn, the focus of the head, and the delicate wing tips.

Had a great visit today to African Lion Safari nr Hamilton, Ontario. The bus tour was great, but the highlight for me was the Birds of Prey show. So many fabulous birds on display - this first example is my favourite shot of the day - I think it is a Saker Falcon - incredibly fast, and stunning to watch. At one point in the display, it incredibly close - such that it pretty much filled my frame. I've cropped it tight as someone's hat got in the way of one wing. Camera was working hard to help me maintain focus as it zipped past! More shots to come over the next few days.

Following on from my post yesterday about sunset over , here is a second image. This was created from 3 separate exposures to capture the trees, river as well as the much brighter sky. It's a lovely spot to watch the sun go down.

Last night was a beautiful (if chilly) sunset in looking out towards the Niagara Escarpment - I had hoped the river might catch a little reflection from the sky, but nonetheless, I think this image does the sunset due justice!

Indulge me celebrating a small first - first order for a print of this Albatross. Had the opportunity to photograph this great little plane a few years ago, and loved the sunlight on the plane against the moody sky. Chuffed to get my first sale!

This Autumn / Fall image was taken in the glorious woodland of Limehouse Conservation area (not easily confused with Limehouse in London UK!). It is the second of the photographic prints I've donated to the Glen Williams Community Association () silent auction to raise funds for their work this weekend.
Glen Williams is blessed by its proximity to at least 3 lovely conservation areas, all less than 10 mins drive from our door. It is a privilege to have such photogenic locations on our doorstep. If you are in the Halton Hills region, I'd love to hear tips on where not to miss for my next photo trip.

Spending some time with our daughter and family in the lovely village of Glen Williams, Ontario. The local community association () is holding a silent auction to raise funds for their work this weekend, so I thought it would be fun to donate a couple of photographs taken in local conservation areas. Both Silver Creek and Limehouse Conservation areas are about 10 minutes away - and both are beautiful throughout the seasons. This BW photo is Silver Creek a week or so ago. Look out for the LImehouse image shortly.

As Spring gets its act together, the snow has almost gone. But, late last week, on the trails at there was still a fair bit if ice. What caught my eye, though was not the remaining ice, or the still rate signs of buds or growth. It was the end of last summer's leaves, scattered on the ice, causing small melts. The ice provided a messy background, so I've chosen to process the background as entirely black, or in one case white, to focus on the decaying leaves. Would love to hear what you think.
