Some photoshoots mean a little more than others.
This is one of them.
I've known him through our business networking group for quite some time.
He's a brilliant joiner, highly skilled at what he does, and one of those genuinely good people who make every conversation better.
There's just one small detail...
He absolutely hates having his photo taken.
Not "I'd rather not" hate.
More "please don't point a camera at me" hate.
So when he asked me to create some professional images for him, I felt genuinely honoured. Not because of the photography itself, but because of the trust behind that request.
For many people, being photographed isn't about standing in front of a camera. It's about being seen. And that can feel surprisingly uncomfortable.
My goal wasn't to create perfect pictures.
It was to create photographs that felt like him.
The skilled craftsman.
The warm personality.
The person his clients get to work with every day.
I'm incredibly proud of these images because they capture far more than a headshot.
They capture character.
I hope these photos work hard for him.
I hope he uses them on his website, social media, and everywhere his future clients will find him.
Most of all, I hope they help people see what I've always seen: a talented professional and a genuinely lovely human being.
William Johnstone is was a joy and privilage.
Thank you
And if you're someone who avoids the camera whenever possible, you're definitely not alone.
Sometimes the best photographs come from the people who want them the least.
