Sneak peek! So a couple of weeks ago I was invited to photograph the beautiful baby Zac in his home. Though he had decided this was the day he needed all the extra milk we worked around his needs, and captured some beautiful, honest and cosy photos to welcome him into the world.

I absolutely adore at home Newborn photo session. They are so cosy & relaxed. I always ensure we have a little extra time so there is no rush. We work around what baby needs, we have everything to hand (hello p**p explosion outfit change) if we need to feed then we do. No crazy props, just little ones in parents arms, safe, together, where they belong.

Do you prefer natural light?

I’m often asked why I choose to not use flash or studio lighting. A couple of reasons. I have spent the best part of 20 years completely obsessed with light, how it falls, the magic it casts, how to use it to get the effects I want. As the light is always changing no two photo sessions are the same. So I just don’t feel it’s necessary to lug about flash’s etc , I can create studio quality images virtually anywhere. Also I’m not keen on the flashes. Especially as studio lighting can be particularly bright, little eyes are sensitive. Lastly, especially on my outdoor sessions we are moving about quite a bit, I like to keep my equipment to a minimum so I can keep up with speedy little people and capture all those authentic cheeky moments.

At home family sessions are the bomb when you have tiny ones. You have everything to hand, nappies, outfits, snacks etc. Also as a photographer with 20 years experience and having worked in countless homes I am the master of hiding any clutter that you maybe don’t want in your photos. Trust me if I can take a baby group room full of mums, babies, car seats, coats, toys, wipes etc and make it look clear and fresh then your home is a breeze compared to this. So if you are finding Dad just can’t quite get that shot of you together with baby or you want some photos of you all together then this is your call. Drop me a DM to book. Two souls, one dream. The miracle of life, a testament of love and connection. Every heartbeat, every little (and sometimes big) kick bringing you closer together.

Maternity sessions are such a beautiful and wonderful way to celebrate this precious time. My sessions are always mixture of celebrating your pregnancy and of your love for one another.

Here are a couple from a recent photo session.. we were sooo lucky to get the ultimate golden sunset for a whole 5min at the end of our time together.

I was tagged in this throw back and had to share as this product session was total alpine vibes and perfect cosy hygge feel. Deborah’s soft furnishings that she makes are wonderful. The fabrics are an absolute dream and such fantastic quality.

A bit of a throwback to a photo shoot with - with all the winter weather of this week - snow, wind and rain I think this gives warm cosy vibes with the reds of the alpine and the faux furs - please message me with any requests I have a great selection of fabric

It was so lovely to be back at last week. Sadly I couldn’t make Mondays Mamas but it was a delight to be able to attend Tuesdays class.
