Monica Doshi Photography This collection of photos represents my journey as a photographer since starting in 2014. M xx Here is a collection of my photographs.

I have seriously pursued photography as a hobby since October 2012 and enjoy nothing more than going out with my camera to take photos. I love outdoor photography and my favourite subjects are wildlife and canoeing. I hope that you like what you see.

Today I completed the Gowbarrow Challenge.
The challenge:
Start at the Royal Dockray Hotel, climb Gowbarrow Fell taking in the views over Ullswater with Hellvelyn ridge in the distance (what’s not to like), take a selfie at the trig point for proof and posterity (what’s not to like), return to the hotel all whilst recording your time.
For this you receive a free pint (whats not to like) and the hotel donate £1 to the Patterdale Mountain Rescue team (what’s not to like).
The fastest time so far is 17 minutes 57 seconds! Mine - 1 hour 13 minutes and 34 seconds.
I don’t drink pints so will donate to anyone who makes a reasonable donation to The Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.
The Royal Dockray Hotel https://royaldockray.co.uk/ is my favourite pub/ hotel in the lakes. The staff are friendly, wonderful and the chef excellent. It’s set in a tiny hamlet only 15 minutes from junction 40 of the M6 and has 12 spacious comfortable rooms so very quiet.

If anyone is at the Edinburgh Fringe then I recommend the 162nd international Exhibition of Photography 2026 held at the Edinburgh Photographic Society. You can buy tickets on the fringe website https://www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/162nd-edinburgh-international-photography-exhibition-2026 or just turn up at the venue https://epsoc.org.uk/exhibitions/intl-print/

I’m delighted to have one of my photos included in the exhibition and to be the minutest part of the fringe!
Many thanks to Tracey Dunleavy for taking the photo. M xx

I’m delighted to share that I have achieved my EFIAP (bronze). This is something I have been working towards through 2025 and the results and certificate arrived in the last week.
For this I needed to have 400 photos accepted in international approved salons across a minimum of 25 countries and with a minimum of 80 different pieces of work. Needless to say I’m pleased the effort has been successful.
On to the next one! M xx

Busy as always. After a week at Blakeney Lifeboat Station volunteering for the National Trust I was straight into photographing Walton and Hersham FC aka the Swans (and the team Luke works for) play away to Oxford City FC. The Swans won 2-1 😊. Here’s a first photo from the day a bit of a determined challenge for procession. M xx

After an amazing eight weeks in Shetland and Orkney I’ve had a very busy couple of weeks at home catching up and turning things around. I’ve just arrived in Norfolk where I’ll be volunteering with the NT.
Last weekend I ended up photographing Luke’s football team in a pre-season friendly. The lads played well with a respectable score of 2-1 losing to a higher division team.
This who know me will know football is not a sport I follow. Despite this I did thoroughly enjoy the experience. Here’s a few pics from the day. Many thanks to Tony Dudley for the pro tips. M xx

I’m back on the mainland of Scotland after an epic two months in Shetland and Orkney, travelling in TwoFlower of course. Sadly I didn’t get to do much in Orkney due to some engine trouble and now just outside of Edinburgh, hopefully, getting the issue fixed. 🤞🏾
Many thanks to Jean and Fiona for meet ups and taking me out whilst grounded in Kirkwall, to Orkney Motors for doing their best to get me sorted and for Arts Sake inviting me to a knit and natter group one afternoon.
I did manage a few nights on Sanday (many thanks to the wonderful people at Ayres Rock for a fab stay and to 59°North for fabulous coffees and letting me have a potter around their wild meadows with my camera).
Here’s a beautiful meadow pipit in full song. This wee bird was my morning wake up call and what a fantastic way to be woken. M xx

It’s raining today so I’m using the time to go through some photos! I love how the sun has brought out those beautiful iridescent colours in this starling’s plumage as it collects dried grass for the nest. M xx

Apologies for not having posted for a while. I am away in TwoFlower for the best part of three months and have had a bit of a welcome break from social media. However, I could not resist posting this one and hope it puts a smile on your face - the poor lamb has had an unfortunate encounter with a cow! A poignant reminder that things don't always go your way!
Hope that you are all having a good summer. M xx

Hello again! In addition to my talk at Earl Shilton Camera Club (Leicester) on Wednesday night I am talking at Cheltenham Camera Club on Thursday evening. It would be fab to see you there for a relaxed and enjoyable evening of wildlife, sport and landscape photos.

"Spots, Spots and More Spots"
There are three cheetah in this photo - two cubs and an adult. They were cwtched together, the cubs taking it in turns to suckle. I wanted to focus on one of the cubs, using the patterns of the others, filling the frame as a backdrop. M xx
