Had a little something different from weddings this week.

I was asked if I could take some photographs of Stephanie Dunmore daughter .jeanna.b_x in her Prom dress and with her horse Mable. The prom was last year and it was something Jeanna wanted to do but with horses and transport, only now could get round to it.

So off we popped to the lovely little_lodge_farm to have a walk and run around to hopefully get some fun shots.

This was lovely to do something a bit different and exercise my creativity juices outside of weddings. And tick off another box in the photos I’ve taken!

I’m pretty happy with these and think Stef and Jeanna are too.

A bit late this one but so worth it. I’ve been on holiday, see…

Jenni Fraser went ALL in on their incredible day at the AMAZING Marleybrook House

Jenni looked utterly stunning with her make up by Bridal Beauty Kent and the incredible “one-off” dress designed by Dando London | Wedding Dresses from Confetti & Lace The size, style, material….she looked incredible.

Craig turned up in the last of FOUR white Rolls Royce’s in STYLE! Decked out in Louboutin shoes and a phenomenal suit from Sebastian Cruz Couture he looked like a movie star!

And the day was FULL! We had musical trio, magician, daytime fireworks and a surprise full fireworks show that was out of this world by Fantastic Fireworks that was the most spectacular fireworks I’ve ever seen at a wedding!

Then we had the cherry on the cake with the fairground that is at Marleybrook and what a little gem it is! Old school rides, attractions, dodgems, waltzers…..you name it! To have that was something else! It was taken full advantage of!

All of this was topped off by gorgeous flowers from Floral Explosion | Kent Wedding Florist & Stylist

Capturing it all on video was the amazing 𝗥𝗘𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗠𝗦 who were a delight to work with and great fun to be around.

Jenni and Craig smashed it and they and their guests had THE most incredible time. What a day, what a wedding, what a wonderful couple!

SUPERCAR SPECTACULAR!

Abbie Rounding and Adam are one THE smiliest couples I have photographed! Such a lovely lovely couple, the day was a dream for them on Saturday at the ever spectacular The Lakeside | Marquee Wedding Venue

Quite literally! Both of them said numerous times that the day just didn’t seem real. Well, I can definitely attest that it absolutely was! And WHAT a day!

It had everything. A super chilled prep in the morning, we had Aston Martin involved as a wedding car….no, ACTUALLY Aston Martin….we also had Maserati involved, although this was a groomsman’s car….we had lots of laughs, plenty of memories and tears for those who were longer with us to be there, with some beautiful tributes, we had perfect weather, we had some “burnouts” from the Maserati (🤣), plenty of dancing, some lifts, gorgeous sunset and just a wonderful vibe all day.

Abbie looked utterly stunning, Adam extremely dapper in the tails, it was a perfect perfect day.

Both knocked it out of the park and what a truly beautiful couple in every way. I can’t thank them enough for having me!

THEY DID IT!

After many years together, Marie Gilbey and Michael finally did the deed and did it!

On a lush, warm day at a venue not only had I not been to, but didn’t even know existed, The Lodge, Duxford | Restaurant & Bar | Afternoon Tea festivities got well under way from the off!

Chilled, relaxed, feeling fine….was not something poor Marie was feeling! Nervous but managed to calm her down, she looked amazing and happy as Larry to be walking down that aisle. We had “ring security” from their 6 year old who was both brave and very emotional, we had emotional support from their elder daughter, who beautifully read our her reading while being very nervous and the fun was felt throughout the day.

It also comes a little bit full circle as I also shot the wedding of Michael’s brother John and Laura (who I used to work with and have known for many years now) NINE years ago now. So to have a mini reunion was a lovely thing.

The Lodge is a lovely little place, with open tent outside with bar and plenty of room and it was the perfect venue for the perfect wedding for Marie and Michael. And despite the nerves and Michael’s insistence he hated having his photos taken, they absolutely smashed it!

What a fab fab day!

EMO SCREAMO!!!

These two absolute love birds smashed their intimate and different wedding last week out of the park!

and Daniel got married in Northampton Guildhall and then went on to party like there was no tomorrow! Broken up into distinct sections, we travelled around Northampton between pub , registry office, pub again, Italian restaurant Sorrentino’s (great Pizza!) and another pub, to dance the night away.

Topping it all was an AWESOME band who played some absolute classic pop punk tunes to get the crowd going and smashed it. They were brilliant and right up Roisin and Daniel’s street.

Much merriment ensued, plenty of giggles, LOTS of mad jumping about by Roisin and loads of tears from Daniel. And the both looked AMAZING! And although they said they were camera shy, went along with my mad ideas, especially in the cafe they first met (first image and one further on).

Check the photos…..Instagram won’t let me post more than 20 but I could post another 30 and it wouldn’t convey this banger of a wedding and a total beaut of a couple!

Familiar….but not

Back in 2023, I photographed sister wedding and that was a true banger of a day. One of the highlights of my work so far in almost 12 year career. It was a special day.

So Ann and day in their amazing parents incredible garden had high expectations as I knew most of the family and suppliers really well.

It didn’t disappoint.

WHAT A DAY! Ann looked INCREDIBLE in her dress from and Sam was more than smart and handsome in his RAF uniform in the first part of the day.

And the party went off with a bang, including the now famous and usual top class highly amusing speech from Ann’s Dad!

The dance floor was bouncing, the beautiful people were out in force and the whole day was exactly what they wanted. Chilled, party vibe, at home with rhe people they love.

I genuinely see this family all as friends now. Tim and Nikki, the parents are the most accommodating and welcoming people, and whose wedding i did first were a wonderful gateway to this whole community and i feel very privileged to know them and be able to capture some of the happiest days of their lives.

Ann and Sam…..you absolutely smashed this out of the park! Thank you for having me! You legends!

Military attire, old cars and a two piece

That was the hooks Saturday’s wedding got me on.

and Tom’s wedding was perfect. Simple, easy going, great vibe and some mad mad ceilidh dancing, especially from Tom! 🤣

Annie and Tom were just the best. Tom looked resplendent in his uniform, Annie wore the most unusual and beautifully clever wedding “dress” from I think I’ve ever seen, perfect for a hot day. It was both skirt and top made to look like one dress and she looked amazing.

Everyone at the wedding was a delight, fun, easy going, friendly and up for a giggle.

I had a blast and these guys smashed the whole thing out of the park.

Raining on your big day?

Yeah, nah, just get on with it aye?! 🤗🤗

Don’t let a bit of water spoil things, go with the flow! Make provisions, changes, whatever. Don’t miss out on the fun, the rain can be a giggle and sometimes, you can even use it to your advantage to get unique photos to you as it rained on YOUR day.

All of these weddings had downpours at some point in the day at the most inconvenient of times. But everybody was also more than happy to say “EFF IT, LETS GO” and fly in the face of logic and make epic photos!

I won’t stop if you don’t, so check the forecast, take the provisions in case and succumb to the mad British weather cos we can’t change it! So roll with it. I will if you will 🤣

Holding it back. All getting a bit overwhelming

Nearly done. Big breath and we can laugh!

Moments like this shouldn’t be missed. I am an analytical, observational kinda guy. I watch people. I use my science background to work things out. Be in right places, timings, light and so on.

It may sound overly rigid and structured but those skills from my science days allow me to be free. Picasso is known for his cubism, but he could really really classically drawn. The basics allowed his imagination to fly.

I’m not in a million years Picasso 🤣🤣 But the principles are the same. I get photos like this by using skills I know. Patience and finding the decisive moment. Attention to detail and so on.

These moments are only happening once. And I am ON it!!!

My science background comes in very handy a lot of the time.

Most photographers talk about their heart. I am usually thinking about the physics of the light for a shot like this. What will happen? Where will it bounce? What colour will it be? Can I get it to do what I want for an idea? Once I’ve done that, I follow my instincts.

Set the idea. The couple do their thing, experiment, shoot. Boom!

This is a perfect example. Backlight gives a halo effect but also a really lovely star effect from flashes. The couple are outlined in light, the flashes bring some pizzazz to the shot. The colour was always going to be like the wood and it’s a dark evening, so everything would stand out. I don’t do this kind of shot ALL the time. Circumstances, location, timing…all has to be right. But when it is…..it’s so so worth it. Just ask and at 🤗 Check out Jade’s evening outfit and the dancing shoes eh? That’s how to do it!
