I was lucky enough to get an open day ticket for the big cat sanctuary, so I set off very early Sunday morning and was actually the first to arrive (those that know knows that never happens)! After about 500 photos, this was the result!

So a few weeks ago, my telephoto lens got dropped and broken, I haven’t been out since! I managed this weekend to get a new lens and took advantage of the windy weather down at Portland bill! One of my favourite places to go

Finally I have been able to get out about today, the weather and day off finally matched up with me having the energy to get on my bike and explore! With autumn drawing in, there are some fabulous colours around and the new forest is just a perfect place to see so many things, if it hadn’t have started raining I may well still be out now but hey, that’s life 🍄😍

Last weekend I went to Poole park, and took a load of photos of bees, as was going through them I found two photos quite similar but one had the back legs in focus and not the front the other had the front part in focus and not the back, this is a particular problem with macro lenses as they have a very narrow depth of field......this means that you only get a small area in focus and it’s what gives you that creamy/blurry background. I had read about a process called focus stacking which is used a fair amount in macro to get all the detail. The process involves taking several images of the same subject to get all the areas you want in focus and then layering them on top of each other to get one whole and focused image. Here I had managed to get two photos accidentally and gave the process a go 🙂

Good evening everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Easter 🐣! Well I was pleasantly surprised to get a message at the weekend to tell me I was going to have another photo of mine put in the echo, Even more so because I have made a habit of not taking out my camera and it was a click on my phone instead 🙂! I just loved the way the background to the blossom was holes bay, with a bit of sunset 🙂! Needless to say this has beaten any Easter egg I got, an awesome surprise 🙂
