It’s official. 📸 🚴‍♂️

Tour of Britain • Lincoln 2026 🇬🇧

What a day it’s been. I’m now sat in a pub with a Guinness, going through the shots from today.

I finally got my first cycling cap! 😂
More from today, keep an eye on my socials. 📸

Tour of Britain — Lincoln 🇬🇧

Opening stage is underway, and as you can see by the crowds, this is about as close as I’m getting to the start line. Absolute bodies everywhere 😂

The penguin shuffle is officially the fastest way through the masses.

Now it’s time to move around the city centre, hunt down those uphill sprints and hopefully capture some absolute bangers.

Here’s to a good Tour. Here’s to the riders. Ride fast, ride hard, but most importantly — ride safe.

We’re all here for the same reason.

Let’s move with the masses and ring that bell 🔔🚴

RING THAT BELL 🔔

From the official unofficial swim, onto the bike, through the run and finally… RING THAT BELL! 🔔

That reel seems to have taken on a life of its own too, with the views still climbing almost daily across Instagram and TikTok..love that!

The crowd erupts the second that bell chimes. Athletes go from low key smiles to absolutely bursting at the seams.

For some, it’s saved by the bell.
For others, it’s the audible culmination of months of hard work, commitment and sacrifice, all coming down to a single effort on a single day to get around the full distance.

Then comes that moment….

“You are an Ironman.”

Welcome to the 0.01% club!

…While it still lasts. One day, someone is going to say 0.02%. I think I’ll still be okay with that.

📸 A few favourites from IRONMAN Leeds

Reliving the bike and run all over again through these.

One moment I didn’t fully appreciate until afterwards. I was shooting on the bike course when the Russ Cook came riding towards me. I shouted, “You’ve got the strongest beard I’ve seen all day!”

I genuinely had no idea who I was talking to at the time.
It only clicked afterwards that I’d just been photographing someone currently rattling through multiple endurance events, with plenty already under his belt.
Brilliant to see him taking on the full distance!

And that Canyon he was riding looked rapid. 🚀

The finish line shot of this mystery athlete ringing the bell is probably my personal favourite. If anyone knows who they are, let me know!

It’s created a brilliant three shot sequence when viewed across my grid.

Then there’s the panning shot. Technically not the sharpest frame, but I love how fast this feels.

Reflections in the sunnies really gets me going. 👌
I’m all about the small details.

The little moments that might otherwise go unnoticed are often the ones I enjoy capturing the most, and where others can relive the stoke through my vision.

If you want to see all the photos I shot throughout the day, head to the link in my bio and scroll down to the IRONMAN Leeds gallery for a better look.

I’m already eyeing up the next event… 👀
Did some one say the Lloyds Tour of Britain ?

RING THAT BELL!

Your race day deserves more than a few photographs at the finish line.

Maybe you don’t want to rely entirely on the official race photographer.

Maybe you want the full story — the nerves, the preparation, the early morning start, the training, the kit, the support crew, the highs, the lows and everything that leads to that moment when you finally become an Ironman.

That’s where 1-1 endurance photography comes in.

A completely personal experience, built around your race and your story — not just the moments that happen to fall in front of a race photographer’s camera.

If you’ve got a big day coming up and want to capture the journey properly, drop me a message.

Let’s tell the whole story.

If you haven’t seen it yet, look at the reel of finish line bell ringers on my profile - I could have your moment immortalised already…

For some, the marathon is the safe space. The place where the day settles down, the rhythm kicks in and you just get the job done.

But starting a marathon knowing you’ve already ridden 180 km takes a different kind of head.

The legs are tired. The body has been working for hours. And yet there are still 42.2 km between you and that finish line.

Ironman isn’t just about being fit enough to finish. It’s about being mentally strong enough to keep moving when everything is telling you to stop.

One foot in front of the other. All the way to the finish.

The run is where the story starts to come together.

After the swim and 180 km on the bike, there’s still 42.2 km to go.

Every lap brings a different story. Some athletes are flying. Some are fighting. Some are simply putting one foot in front of the other and refusing to stop.

That’s what makes Ironman racing so incredible to photograph.

These moments don’t last long — but the images do.

Ironman Leeds — The Bike 🚴‍♂️

180km. Three loops. 2,574m of elevation and Black Hill three times!

The bike course at Ironman Leeds certainly gave the legs something to think about, from the rolling Yorkshire roads and long, steady climbs to the infamous Black Hill which featured on the Tour de Yorkshire.

And then there were the Blackhill_Wrestlers_IMUK. 🤼‍♂️
Their support was absolutely invaluable. Music blasting, costumes on, good vibes flowing and the crowd going wild on the steepest sections of the climb — all afternoon, right through to the very last rider.

That kind of atmosphere makes a brutal climb just that little bit more bearable.

The bikes themselves were a spectacle too. An incredible array of machinery on show, from standard road bikes through to some seriously advanced time-trial setups.

Plenty of impressive displays of ascending Yorkshire’s finest gradients. 😅

More race photos to come from the run.

From mid-afternoon into the evening, athletes arrived one after another — swimming their own race, in their own way, but all with the same purpose: getting those 3.8km done before race day.

Because Ironman is never just about what happens on the start line.

It’s the months of training, the early mornings, the sacrifices, the setbacks and the commitment to a goal that means something different to every athlete.

As the sun disappeared and darkness closed in, they were still coming.

Here are a few moments from the unofficial swim, with plenty more waiting for you in the gallery.

And if you’re planning an event and want coverage that goes beyond what you’d typically get from the race-day provider, get in touch. Let’s discuss how we can make your event — and the memories from it — truly unforgettable.

More from Ironman Leeds race day coming right up. 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️
