really need to get a move on and refurbish these 170s. 271 hasn't had any real TLC since new by the looks of it, with the buttons all completely off the accessible toilet.... Not very good to be perfectly honest!

Looking like it's frozen in time, Manchester Victoria Metrolink can be seen with no movement today.

It comes after major damage to the overhead cables yesterday at Queen's Road stop. It happened at around 2.30pm, hindering transport for the very popular and massive meaning the shuttle buses had more passengers to carry. Overall, not great, and sadly they are still unable to get the cables fixed fully, meaning as of 9am today, still no service.

After nearly 6 years of spotting trains on Britain's railways, I have finally got myself on board a Grand Central class 180. Every chance I ever had slipped me by, but today, a 10 minute hop on one has graced me. Very happy to finally tick off this class, and not the only first time on an operator I'll be getting this month!

An uncommon sight for today. Due to a points failure earlier followed by a lineside fire on the WCML, Avanti services have run up to 150 minutes late across the network, with no train from here to London for over 2 hours now.

A lineup of three Pendolinos usually never happens at Piccadilly, with Platforms 6 and 7 dedicated to their use, but you can see number 390119 using platform 5, after waiting 30 minutes to even get into the station.

Yesterday, I was one of the number of enthusiasts who went up to catch the last service via to
This service was a parliamentary route that ran Sundays only from 1994, with a Summer Sunday service via , seeing it extend down the Settle-Carlisle branch and terminating at , something sadly not running in 2023.
Possibly once having more, by this year, only 2 return trips operated a week, and in the May 2023 timetable change, the service is being dropped, and the track from Clitheroe to Hellifeld will see no more trains and likely get closed from Sunday, May 21st.
#156427 was the unit assigned to the work for the final day but failed at Clitheroe on the way up, and then ran dead to Blackburn and did that short run back to Preston before being sent do the depot. #150130 was drafted in to cover the afternoon run, although this had one broken window on one of the doors. Thankfully, Northern took a risk and ran the train despite this, but overall not the best last day for the service.
Here are some photos of the unit in action, including the confetti of leaves that get left behind from the trees that weren't perfectly trimmed on the line. I might not be a massive fan of these units, but this was one time I was happy to ride one, because it meant the service could still go ahead.

DB 66099 is seen passing through Stockport with a rake of containers bound for Wilton Terminal, originating at Knowsley Freight Terminal (I think - it was the information I used at the time but it doesn't look right to me now that I look at it, so should you know better let me know)

𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗗𝗠𝟰𝟰𝟬𝟳𝟱 (𝗬𝗫𝟱𝟴𝗛𝗩𝗘) • 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 • 𝟭𝟲/𝟬𝟮/𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵

Moving on to one of the routes that was added to the list of those that stop at the site of the Roundabout, we see one of Tower Transit's much older Enviro 200s running on the W15. This is one of the routes in the area that was run by Arriva London until they gave up a lot of routes to First London. The W14 and W15 moved to Tower Transit after the demise of First's London operations, whilst the W16 moved to CT Plus.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘀. 𝟭𝟮𝟭𝟯𝟰 (𝗟𝗫𝟲𝟭𝗗𝗙𝗟), 𝟭𝟮𝟭𝟰𝟯 (𝗟𝗫𝟲𝟭𝗗𝗗𝗬) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟮𝟭𝟰𝟰 (𝗟𝗫𝟲𝟭𝗗𝗗𝗭) • 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 • 𝟭𝟲/𝟬𝟮/𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵

During 2018, Whipps Cross Roundabout slowly became a massive roadworks site, with the whole centre of it being dug up. This is because the council decided that they'd turn it into a more congested T-Junction. Included in the change is Whipps Cross Bus Stand (Yes it's called that and not Bus Station), which allowed the 257, W12, W15 and W19 to now stop where the roundabout was all in both directions.

While I was there for the first time, I noticed the 56's kept queuing in threes, so I snapped this shot of three of the Enviro 400Hs stood in a line. This route used to see a number of ALX400 vehicles, but appears to have received a complete E400H conversion.
