Silsden Photography Group

Silsden Photography Group We are a group of local people interested in all types of photography. The group is relaxed and informal, and open to everyone. And, of course, tea and biscuits.

We meet between September and June on the first and Third Wednesdays in the month at 7.30pm at Silsden Town Hall. Feel free to contact us or just turn up. We have a varied agenda of photo competitions, both printed and digital, using a variety of judges. There will also be a number of speakers who visit and hopefully inspire us or instruct us to improve our photography whether you use a Mobile Phone or DSLR. See our meeting agenda pinned to the page for more details (available soon).

Really excited to be invited back to the wonderful Silsden Photography Group tonight. I'll be talking wildlife photography, ahead of their upcoming natural history competition. Timely, as I just found out this Water Rail photo from last January has made it into the 2026 publication. Final placement announcement is next month 🤞.

Max Malisan, a local photographer, was our judge for Wednesday 4th December. Max reminded us of photography being an art so different images have a different impact on individuals.

Max’s judging gave everyone positive feed back but also ideas on cropping, isolating images or spacing, light and good use of shutter speed. It was interesting how he sees the story in our photographs.
Here are the photos scoring 17 and over.
