Simplicity. I call myself a styled product photographer because I specialise in creating scenes that help sell a product’s lifestyle. But sometimes that lifestyle is not obviously “styled” - think stillness, calm, simplicity, minimalism.

Loved capturing these for Pause and Refocus. This was their first shoot ahead of their website launch (and they've just celebrated their second birthday!). This is a brand built around self-care and mindful moments... the kind I (and probably everyone) need a bit more of.

There’s something really satisfying about stripping everything back and using a single curved backdrop, some dappled light and the product itself. These work beautifully as main product images or thumbnails on a website, alongside more in-use type lifestyle shots which were still kept minimal.

All the pops of colour. Loved shooting Studio Lowen’s craft storage collection!

Big thanks to Soph, who helped pull this one together (and modelled too). She works at No Frills Knitting and is, unsurprisingly, a knitting pro which was incredibly useful. I just nodded along and hoped I wasn’t using anything incorrectly. My sewing machine probably wondered what was going on when I dragged it down from the loft, it's barely seen light since my A Levels. 😂

(That said, I am a knitter now, so obviously I know everything. By 'knitter', I mean I can do knit and purl and absolutely nothing beyond that, but still. Technically counts, right?)

Summer stripes. This shoot brought all sunshine vibes to the studio.

Slightly obsessed with Carrie & Co’s Daily Muse notebook and matching tote bag - very much giving poolside at Soho House.

I kept the styling pretty neutral and natural for this one, letting the products do the talking. Alongside cleaner product listing shots to show how beautifully the notebook and tote bundle together, I captured those all-important detail close-ups too (including the inside zip pocket… because why don’t all tote bags have these?!). Then mixed in some lifestyle shots for marketing that shows the bags and books in everyday use.

Making the studio rich in greens and woods for 🌿 Any excuse to get all my plants out… and realise which ones I’ve accidentally neglected. 🙃

These images are just a few from Vicki’s second shoot, featuring everything from keyrings and handbags to wallets and jewellery holders, all handcrafted in Vicki’s Cornish studio.

Vicki wanted a nod to nature in the imagery while keeping everything feeling current and suitable for use all year round and with this shoot, we used some darker woods and a green wall colour. One of my favourite things about this studio is how much changing the wall colour completely transforms the space (and gives me an excuse to play around with a new look).

I’m in this studio every day, and it still amazes me how different every shoot can feel. Every brand brings its own personality into the space, and I love seeing it come to life.

This was a big studio product shoot (174 images in the end!!), capturing products in multiple ways, including held shots to show scale. Swipe for a little peek at just 10 shots from the gallery. →

Getting to create super-cute children’s bedrooms in the studio? Ridiculously fun.

Mini Beau is home to hand-designed art prints, wall stickers, wallpaper, height charts and greeting cards designed to inspire your little ones. I first captured images for Jen at Mini Beau as part of 91 Editions' Small Business Stories feature (I’ve tagged which ones these are in the picture!), and since then, Jen has had two more shoots.

When discussing the styling and approach for this shoot, Jen said she wanted the photos to feel sophisticated, clean and whimsical - images that show how these products inspire conversation and open-ended play.

It’s definitely a challenge creating child-inspired interiors when you don’t have children yourself and can’t raid their rooms for props! A lot of time was spent sourcing pretty books and little bits and bobs that also tied in with the artwork itself. It may have taken a while to pull together, but I loved getting to be so playful with it.

I actually wish I could turn these into real rooms in my house so I could live in them all the time. 😂

Coastal, natural and textural. What a dream this shoot was!

This was a rare collab shoot (and honestly, look how well it works - please, guys, enquire if you’d like to share your shoot with someone with a similar vibe!) between and . Beth and Hazel wanted a set of images they could use to apply for exhibitions and market their work at art fairs.

It’s safe to say their products work PERFECTLY together. These photos were captured here in the studio, with the focus very much on light and texture rather than heavy styling.

Hazel and Beth shared the cost of the shoot, with some images capturing their products together and others individually, too. It worked SO well, and I’d love to do more shoots with two makers in the future. 🙏

Melissa got in touch with me a couple of years ago, looking for new imagery for her rebrand into what is now known as In Remembrance and I’m so glad she did!

In Remembrance creates memorial jewellery and keepsakes, and here are a few photos from our first shoot together. It was such a pleasure capturing pieces I knew would hold so much meaning for those gifting or receiving them. We opted for muted, neutral tones to create a calm, peaceful feel, combining clean product shots with images of the pieces being held, worn and styled in situ.

P.S. Oh, hey! 👋 First time posting on FB in over two years. I’m planning to show up a bit more around here…

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you wonderful lot. Have a very well deserved break.
