If you go down to the woods today…
You will find it’s peak season for wild garlic. In our neck of the woods the buds are forming and you can pickle those on top of the multitude of other things you can do with the leaves
Pictures here are from the last few years include pesto, fermenting, soup by , dip, salt and butter
It has been on our menu at over the last couple of weeks in various guises as it is so useful to take us through the hungry gap. This week it will be featuring in our tart
Do you cook with it?

Hello My lovelies, and Happy Valentines day - I miss you, but even though I am rarely posting I hope you spot my likes on your posts from time to time
I do plan to reinvigorate this account at some point, but just for now I’m doing very little photography outside our business
Did you see the ‘s ‘radicchio instead of roses’ campaign for Valentine’s day this year?
They are trying to bring to attention the environmental impact of flying in 220 million flowers that are sold in the UK out of season, mostly roses😬
This forced raddichio from Veneto, Italy is in season just now, and it is seriously gorgeous as well as being very pretty
This shot was taken a few years ago, but features said raddichio

May is a tricky season, a time for planting rather than harvesting except of course for asparagus, the darling of the season. We eat as much of this as we possibly can as it is not around for long
Also radishes, spinach, spring onions, beetroot, rocket and new potatoes if you are lucky
Swipe to see what these radishes really looked like

The flowering currant is over, and apparently today is the day for uncovering forced rhubarb so I better check and see what’s left
Lots of rhubarb gin has been made, it just needs decanting, and we have had our fare share of rhubarb puddings. Are your tucking into rhubarb in any interesting ways?
