is situated on the Droma River 20 km S of Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands. It is 1.5 km long, 60m deep and formed at the end of the last ice age.

The Old Ferry

This abandoned turntable ferry used to cross the Loch Carron between Stromeferry and North Strome until the new road was build. When the ferry service stopped, this vessel was sailed onto the beach in 1970 and just left there.
Just a few steps away from the roadside, it can hardly be seen and very few people ever get a closer look at it.
