Alex Metcalfe is an award-wining commercial and adventure sports photographer and writer based in Sheffield, The Peak District. He specialises in extreme and remote assignments to capture images of athletes pushing their limits to produce compelling and engaging media for outdoor and luxury brands. He has worked for numerous brands including Montane, Olympus, Expedition Foods and Fatmap. His work
has appeared in print and online with The Guardian, UKClimbing, The British Mountaineering Council, Wanderlust, Renovate and Creative Live to name a few. Adopting a run and gun documentary style Alex takes pride in his ability to move around the mountains quickly, keeping pace with his subjects whilst documenting the stories behind their endeavours. Although best known for his climbing photography, he is at home shooting a wide range of adventure sports, from trail running and hiking, to downhill mountain biking and backcountry skiing. When he’s not dangling from a rope you may find him down at the local rock club with his band.
