New Blog Post!
It's that time of year to head to the cliffs. In my latest blog post I share my two favourite locations for photographing Puffins in the UK. Check it out on my Wildlife website www.rswildlife.com/blog

It's been an exceptionally busy year so far! There's only 30 days left until I run my 1st marathon in an attempt to raise £5,000 for vital research into MND. The training is getting tough! If you could possibly spare a few quid I would appreciate it SO much.

The 3rd of March is a very special day for me, not only is it but more importantly for me it is my wedding anniversary. So I dedicate today's post to my wonderful husband for still loving me after 13 years of marriage 😀

To celebrate we are heading to Kruger National Park next week and I can't wait! Even though the Maasai Mara is my favourite safari destination, Kruger is the first place we safari-ed together so it has a special place in our hearts and I am very much looking forward to being there again!

South Africa is a truly beautiful country and it's well worth visiting. It's got everything, even penguins 🤣

The thermal, bloody, yellow eyed Ruppells Griffon Vulture.

I do have great admiration for this pretty ugly bird. They don't look cute and cuddly by any means but they play a vital role in the wild and they are truly fascinating creatures.

The 2 bald spots on either side of its chest is used to regulate heat loss when flying. Their heads have no feathers so it doesn't get clogged up when they stick it in a carcass and it gets covered in blood. Vultures have excellent eyesight and can spot a carcass from 4 miles away!

I think this image points to all 3 facts, it's bald patches, it's blood covered head and it's yellow beady-eye.

There is so much to this bird, why not join me in July and see them for yourself! Message me for more info.

Go Green!

I've just written a blog post about why you should consider going on safari in the "Green Season" especially if budget is a factor for you.

From November - April it can be considerably cheaper to travel to Africa and enjoy a relatively private game viewing experience. Flights are cheaper and there can often be fantastic deals on accommodation!

Yes, there may be "rains" but that shouldn't put you off as this will only add to your safari experience! If it rains during the day, these are usually just short bursts which cool things down meaning you are likely to see predators in the day. You can still take fantastic photographs when it is raining and tell the story of this magical season! The longer rains usually come at night time when you'll be fast asleep, so again, no biggy! The rains mean life, so as the vegetation becomes more abundant the animals feel more comfortable and reproduce, meaning it is also an excellent time to spot fawns, pups and cubs!

We run 4 safaris during the green season for just $3,500 (a real bargain!) Why not check it out, link in my bio!

Not a "tiger in a tree" but a leopard!

When I started my photographic career 17 years ago, I worked in a high street studio and I photographed many babies. One of the poses we used to put the baby in was called the "tiger in a tree" as it is meant to be soothing on their stomachs especially if they have colic!

I've always wanted to get a shot of a leopard doing this pose but they have often been sleeping when I've seen them laying this way. But one morning (after seeing this leopard the night before) we found her again and guess what, she was awake and this beauty looked right at me! 😀 @ Samburu Game Lodge Samburu National Reserve
