COMING SEPTEMBER 2026.

FEATURE-LENGTH DOCUMENTARY BY PBX.

Hello all,

As previously teased on our social media platforms, this is the first trailer for our upcoming documentary "URBAN EXPLORATION"

Our release date is set in stone for September 2026, once we have beefed it up a little with some more interesting places and more history.

The documentary will focus on the impact of Urban Exploring and the immense social media phenomenon it has become and to also strip it down and explain the basics of the hobby, the risks attached, look into places we visited in the making of this documentary, their stories and their uncertain futures with interviews and tales from both the PBX team and other prominent explorers.

This is not one to miss...

Pye Bank Primary School, Sheffield - April 2016.

In continuation of my 2016 themed
throwbacks, here is another one we did 9 years ago, which I find crazy to be very honest, I have found my warchest of older photos and will begin slowly putting them on but there are some notable absentees, namely Loxley Chapel & Hallam Towers.

Dyson Technical Ceramics - August 2025

This is also the sister location to a site we did all waaay back in 2016, I will have to dig out my photos of the other one that once stood in Stannington, anyways, they specialise in high performance refractory ceramics and they've been around nearly 200 years, the Stannington site was vacated in the early 2000's and levelled to build houses in 2018 and this one was only recently vacated within the last 5 years with redevelopment plans pending.

Bit of a major failure this one, visited on the off chance we could get in, wasn't long however before the on site camera towers picked us up and what we thought was a robot voice then became very human and described all our appearances and asked us to go, so we obliged.

We got the main office building at the front of the site done and a couple of workshops before our fun was interrupted.

Record Tools, Sheffield - August 2025

This is the second location related to their other former site which we covered back in 2018, history is scarce online but looks to have closed around 2009 trading as Irwin Tools.

If I'm honest was a very empty but in parts intresting place and didn't have great artwork like the other site meaning either people are unaware of it or security have done a good job over the years keeping it sealed.

Abandoned Chalet, Sheffield - August 2025.

Don't have much history on this one other than a German couple owned it until their deaths in 2020 & 2021.

Very sombre and sobering experience walking through here as you could tell this had been someone's pride and joy for a long time and unfortunately as the occupants got older it was unable to be maintained as well.

Such a picturesque location it's been built in so the appeal is there in my opinion, but I believe it's £350,000 price tag is a lot for the modest size of the property and it's now poor condition due to vandals, theives etc.

It has now been sold at auction and is awaiting further action in which the main chalet style bungalow will be replaced and the existing 2-car garage will be altered to be it's own annexed house, that's what the planning permission application shows anyway.

Varosha, Cyprus - June 2025.

Well, it's been a long time hasn't it.

This is a part of the city of Famagusta in the current Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,

During the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's it was the top destination in Europe with holiday makers and film stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Brigitte Bardot frequenting the place, it had it all, the longest beaches on the island, designer outlets, restaurants as well as local families living in the area.

This was up until a Greek Cypriot led Coup D'etat in July 1974 amid rising tensions between the Greek and Turkish Cypriots which the Turkish military responded to with a full scale invasion with paratroopers and air raids taking 36.2% of the island, which the Cypriot National guard at the time could not compete with, so the UN was forced to intervene and established a buffer zone between the Turkish and Greek sides which remains to this day.

The people of Varosha were given just one hour to evacuate by Turkish forces and were promised they would return as soon as possible, 51 years later their homes, belongings and former lives still remain trapped in 1974, they have never returned.

Varosha was totally closed off to the public between 1974 and 2005 when the beach in front of the three hotels in a row on the photo was opened, however photography was strictly prohibited, and remained this way until 2021 when it was finally opened to the public which provides an eye opening experience into what was lost.

I have been here before 3 times and have never seen most of what is captured on my images.

Absolutely incredible experience but very sad to see what was lost 51 years ago.

Millmoor Stadium, Rotherham,
September 2017.

Yep, unfortunately as with the Courthouse photos, these have had the same treatment unfortunately.

Maybe I should ask Sheffield Star for them back as they use my photo of the Tivoli End everytime they do a piece on Millmoor. 🤷‍♂️

Rotherham United began playing at Millmoor in the early 1900's due to the FA not approving of their previous home for cupmatches and was regarded as "a paragon of what a football ground should be" guess it aged well, if only they could see the soulless bowls they chuck supporters into nowadays and knock these "paragons" down for housing.

Many promotions, relegations, major cup upsets and goals were seen at Millmoor, even the Chuckle Brothers being lifelong Millers fans filmed an episode of Chucklevision at Millmoor.

An accident occurred at Millmoor in the 99/00 Divison Three title decider game between Rotherham United and Swansea City as an away supporter exiting the stadium on Millmoor Lane was trampled to death by a police horse, a later inquest ruled the death accidental.

This all came crashing down to earth in 2008 when landowner C.F Booth evicted Rotherham United after a lengthy dispute and began plans to demolish the stadium, the Millers were exiled to Don Valley Stadium (Also demolished 😕) for 5 years before returning to Rotherham with the shiny New York Stadium.

The last professional game at Millmoor was on the 3rd of May 2008, It was a 1-0 win for Rotherham against Barnet, and the stadium has sat in limbo ever since.

Old Town Hall/ Crown Courts, Sheffield, September 2017.

I'll be honest people, I have had an absolute nightmare finding these photos, searched my laptop, old phones for months to absolutely no avail, until today I found a file containing photos I thought were long gone, unfortunately their quality is not what you'll be used to on here, (this is a 14 year old me taking these photos on a cheap phone) I have touched them up slightly in lightroom but resolution wise they are pretty much the same, I'm always keeping an eye on the Courts to get some more professional photos that I won't lose for 7 years. 🤦‍♂️

Sheffield Old Town Hall and Court House opened in 1700 and was expanded many times in various different ways, at certain points during it was in operation it housed many criminals awaiting trial some of these include (and these are just rumours) Peter Sutcliffe, Reginald Kray and Robert Maudsley (again, rumours.)

The Courts were moved to a new site at West Bar in the late 90's the Courthouse has remained empty ever since and since 2006 it has been listed as one of Britain's most at-risk historic buildings, many redevelopment schemes have been cooked up over the years by Sheffield City Council and the Buildings various owners that have come and gone.

My hope is that it will be saved before it's too late for it, it would be an absolute tragedy to lose a building of it's age.
