I always fancied having a go at photography after seeing my Grandad playing around with cameras when I was a child. I never knew where to start, the equipment was all very expensive and very complicated to use, which always put me off giving it a try. In my early 20’s I taught outdoor pursuits which enhanced my natural love for wildlife and nature, I saw many beautiful views and wild animals but never had a way of capturing those moments. As I got older I started appreciating these moments more and more, so over time I took some pretty nice photographs on my iPhones. Recently, while chatting with a professional photographer and showing him some of my favourites photos, he told me that I had a natural eye for composition and could do well with some practice. I did some research over about a month and finally took the plunge two weeks ago. I purchased my first camera and lens kit but I quickly realised that I needed more flexibility from a lense to suit my favourite subject matter, which is wildlife and landscapes. The kit lens was great but limited me in certain aspects so within a week I purchased an additional lens to better suit my needs. I now have my eyes on a couple more lenses to help me expand my ambitions and to offer me even more flexibility on future projects.
