York Station, York, North Yorkshire

Most of us who use York station know where this arch is in the station. A Plymouth bound service HST waits to get underway in the Autumn Yorkshire sun.

Bank Underground Station, London, England

Keeping the theme of the London Underground and also Bank Tube station and this is another part of the station. Probably another well photographed tunnel in the station and always good fun to capture, you can never resist in photographing it.

I got the timing perfect here, as I just arrived this person was walking down towards the Waterloo and City Line and I lined up the shot and got the frame, was well chuffed with the result and this is one of my favourite images of this tunnel.

Many thanks for all the comments in the last few days 😁👍

Bank Underground Station, London, England

By far one of my favourite London Underground stations to photograph but one of the most challenging with the maze of rabbit warren type tunnels, it is easy to get lost and of course the busy nature of the station, it always seems busy!!

Although this is one of my favourite stations, I am looking forward to visiting the new Crossrail stations when they all eventually open to the public and even some of the new renovated stations, I am so far behind photographing these as I have not been down to the capital for a little while but I have seen some awesome photos of these from other photographers, Tottenham Court Road refurbishment is one for example that is on my list. 👍

Say Cheese!

Kings Cross Station Foot Tunnel, London, England

A darker and gritty image for todays upload. This is Kings Cross Station foot tunnel, a tunnel that use to link the main station up with the Old Thameslink Station which is now abandoned, although this tunnel I believe is still here (not been here in while so please tell me if its not or has changed) it just acts as another exit/entrance into Kings Cross.

There is something very appealing about this tunnel, something very retro as if this tunnel is stuck in a 90s time warp, also love the "Smile", a little bit of humour injected into this tunnel for the daily commuters.

On a separate note, I have been thinking of getting a drone, I have some interesting ideas for some drone aerial photography and its something I would like to investigate further. I have never flown a drone but has any of my contacts got a drone and used it for photography, please let me know as it would be awesome to see your photos as well as your views on them.

Have a great day everyone! 😁

The British Museum, London, England

This is an old photo now of mine but reworked, I've forgotten how much of an awesome interior this is after seeing this view again after many years. Taken on a very bright day which creates some awesome shadows on the floor and you may notice taken with my old A700 and fisheye, both I no longer have after upgrading.

I thought I had better check in with you all as again I'm still quiet on here and I received an email about the recent SmugMug Flickr takeover which kinda excited me, I am looking forward to see what changes SmugMug implement in the next few months and actually has given me the urge to get out with the camera again, I have eyed up a few new spiral staircases (well new to me) that I want to photo so hopefully get some new material up very shortly.

I hope your all good 😀

The Lodestar- Phillip Lucette Beacon, Shaldon, Devon, England

Something a little different for me, little bit of seascaping :-). Took me ages to get this right in post processing, not sure why, maybe its because its little different to the type of work that I normally photograph and do, who knows?

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Looking forward to seeing all your new photos for 2017, a new years resolution for me is to get back out with the camera more often than I have been of late.

The Rat Hole - Greenwich Foot Tunnel, London, England

Always love reworking an old photo, I really hate the way I edited this image a few years ago compared to this, I suppose our tastes as photographers are always changing from what we photograph to how we edit.

Would you agree with this?

I feel my editing has certainly changed over the last few years to a point where I am happy and am always keen to revisit photos that I took years ago.

This tunnel is very well documented on Flickr but I can see why it is so popular with photographers. I love the grittiness and the mix clean shiny tiles with the dirty worn ones. The converging lines are always appealing to me :-)

The Long Hiatus - Charing Cross Underground Station, London, England

Well, a big Hello again everyone! I thought I better upload a photo to let you all know I am still here.

My apologies for not uploading as of late, I have had a break away from my photography. I felt that I needed some time away from my photography, I found myself editing photos and never being entirely happy with them which I found quite frustrating which meant they never got uploaded. I feel this break has helped me and refreshed my eyes and I seem to be enjoying editing my photos and taking photos again. I have also recently got married so enjoying married life and also been concentrating on my swimming, another passion of mine.

However I now have a list as long as my arm of places I want to visit, especially back down in London. Been seeing loads of new places to photograph down in London so want to visit them, being over 200 miles away from London now I don't get chance to visit down there as much as I would like to.

Anyway, I am glad to be back, have I missed anything? ;-)

The Matrix - 1 Bishops Square, London, England

My apologies for not being particularly active as of late, I have just got quite a bit on at the moment and not had chance to get out with the camera in recent weeks and not had chance to upload here much, hopefully will get out with the camera soon and get some new material. I have a list of places I have been itching to visit and get some new work, so bare with me ;-).

Anyway, one for the archives and from one of my Open House outings from a few years back. 1 Bishops Square is a very modern building and has a wonderful art installation called 'Pixel Cloud' and it really does live up to its name. I could have spent most of the day photographing it.

If you get the opportunity to go to Open House London this September you should put this building on the list just for this highlight alone.

Heading Home - Bank Underground Station, London, England

Another from Bank Underground Station, this tunnel within Bank is simply awesome, always captures my eye everytime I see it and can't resist in taking photos of it.

Its actually quite rare to see it this quiet as it links the Central Line and the Waterloo and City Line so its normally jam packed full of people.

I am really enjoying using the VSCOfilm plugins for lightroom, its certainly making me re-evaluate my post processing techniques and I like some of the film type effects that it can add to a photo and it works very well with architecture and city type images.

Screwball Scramble - London Bridge Underground Station, London, England

It doesn't matter how many times I visit London Bridge Underground station but I always managed to get lost within its labyrinth of tunnels and escalators, anyone else get this problem?

Like many other Underground stations, London Bridge is a mishmash of different architectures and styles from different eras. What I really like about this tunnel is the clinical feel and clean lines, mixed with the emptiness in this photo it can feel quite unnerving to many people who witness a tunnel on the London Underground like this.

I can't wait for my next trip down to London, really looking forward to exploring the new part of Tottenham Court Road station that has been recently opened not to mention I have a few spiral staircases I want to photograph too.

I don't know why but everytime I look at this tunnel it always reminds me of the game Screwball Scramble that I use to play as a kid, not sure why but it just triggers that memory of mine, anyone else remember that game?
