Good morning, good evening or good night, wherever you might be..✌🏼
For years, my photography has been centred around long exposures, incredible landscapes and waterscapes of the Nordic countries and Iceland. Those places, and that style of photography, will always be at the heart of what I do.

Lately, though, I’ve been having a lot of fun exploring a new perspective… by taking to the skies.

Discovering familiar landscapes from angles I’d never have imagined. It’s a completely different and epic way of seeing the world, every flight teaches me something new. There’s still plenty to learn, but that’s all part of the journey, the creative possibilities are vast.

I’ve finally created a dedicated aerial gallery on the Chop website to share this growing collection of images — ‘Drone Visuals’
It’s something I’ll be adding to over time, and so I thought it would be nice to bring you along for the ride.
I hope you enjoy watching it evolve as much as I’m enjoying creating it, although at times the knowledge can be a tad overwhelming, and learning to use your Shriek thumbs is a tad fiddly! But, we’re getting there.

In November, I’ll be returning to Iceland for my tenth photographic trip to the island. Although it’s a place I know well, this visit will be very different.
I’m pumped to rediscover some of my favourite locations from an entirely new perspective, and looking forward to sharing the footage and captures taken.

Plus, I’d love to know what you think of this new direction?!

Slowly but surely, I’ve been getting more involved with drone work recently, something I’m really looking forward to sharing properly once I’ve polished a few things up.
On a recent trip down to Devon/Cornwall, while the drone was taking a break, I took the chance to whip out the ol’ camera and snap a few shots, and somehow completely forgot about this one until now.
It’s not the most jaw-dropping image ever, but with the incredible weather and sunsets we’ve been having lately, this felt like the perfect time to share it.
It’s amazing what England has to offer when the light, weather, and timing all come together.
The West Country really is something else.

Here’s my latest and final image from last year, Himeltinden in Vestvågøy, North Norway.
If you get the chance, have a look on a larger screen, it really shows the scale and detail far better than a phone.
This was a completely unplanned stop during the day while we were on the road, but sometimes those spontaneous moments turn out to be the best ones.
It wasn’t the easiest shot to get either!
We parked up, carefully making our way (sliding) across an icy road, to then stand knee-deep in snow on a slope to frame it properly.
To then set all my gear up, which was quite comical… but extremely challenging at the same time.
Not the most comfortable setup! but definitely worth it for the result. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed (eventually!) capturing it.
I call this one simply, Himmeltinden.
(Because pain in the arse doesn’t sound quite right)
