"Reverence" - Degree Show

In ‘Reverence’, I embark on a visual exploration of the shifting paradigms of admiration in contemporary society. Drawing inspiration from the rich tradition of stained-glass iconography, traditionally reserved for religious saints and figures. My project juxtaposes this historical imagery with the modern-day admiration of athletes and sports players.

I examine the cultural shift in whom we choose to elevate as icons and role models. Each photograph features a student athlete from YSJ University, clad in their sports attire and holding a prop emblematic of their chosen sport. These individuals, once relegated to the realm of mortals, now command the adulation and admiration traditionally reserved for religious figures.

DANCE SHOWCASE 2024 💃III

It was great to be able to take photos for for their annual dance showcase. It was a great performance as always!
