A few favourites from a lovely woodland family photo session. 🌳☀️

Their little boy had so much fun running along the paths and enjoying the freedom of being outdoors. Full of energy and curiosity, he made the most of the open space to run, play and explore. These are the moments I love to capture! Genuine smiles and the little interactions that tell your family’s story.

As much as I love my studio sessions, it’s always nice to get outside when the weather is kind and capture families simply enjoying time together. No pressure, no posing for long periods of time, just real moments and happy memories.

In this final part of her session, she was wide awake, her eyes open, and totally captivated by the camera, just giving the most perfect pose all by herself!

This part of her session was all about those soft, sleepy poses, snuggled up with a few little cuddly friends and wearing an adorable bunny hat on the peach backdrop.

Completely relaxed and peaceful, she gave us those beautiful newborn moments that make this stage so special 🤍

While many families love the traditional cake smash, it’s absolutely not a requirement to celebrate your little one turning one.

Some parents prefer a birthday milestone session without the cake, and the photos can be just as full of personality and curiosity. Bringing along a favourite toy or something that naturally engages your child often creates the most genuine expressions and reactions.

You can still have the same beautiful balloon setups and colour themes, so the session still feels like a birthday celebration - just without the mess.

Some families also like to get creative with alternatives instead of cake. Things like fruit, snacks, or other foods your little one already loves can be a fun option and still give those playful exploring moments that make these sessions so special.

At the end of the day, the goal is simply to capture your baby at this milestone age - their expressions, their curiosity, and their personality as they turn one 🤍

Meet lovely Baby L, who came into my Royston photography studio for her newborn photography session 🤍

In this part of her session, she was wide awake and looking straight into the camera with the cutest curious little expression, as if she was already taking everything in.

And then, snuggled up with her most favourite people in the world, she looked so calm and content… almost like she knew how lucky she is to have these two as her parents, and was exactly where she was meant to be 🤍
