Having failed to photograph what I wanted to in Margate I dropped in on Minus Bay, Birchington to check out what the coastline had on offer. I had seen a similar composition on Instagram and thought I'd give it a go myself with my own personal twist. I agonised for ages on whether or not I should post with our without horizon so I flipped a coin as I like them equally. I'll have to post the alternative another time.

You'd expect this rig to be sitting in the middle of the sea but in fact it's about as close to Newhaven harbour as you can get. I've deleted the harbour in Photoshop to give it the feeling of floating in deep water on a misty day (the misty day bit is real) It is infact a barge that's used to lay the foundations of wind turbines out at sea. It captures my attention instantly.

This location is so remote it took an age to get to but wasn't it worth it. I arrived an hour after high tide, which was a little late really, but it coincided with sunrise (not that I saw much sun) I'm not entirely sure what it once was but I think it was part of a jetty. It's huge! It's got to be 15ft tall. There was also more than one so there may well be more pics to follow. 30sec long exposure with 3stop ND filter attached to smooth that water out.

I thought I'd try something a little different from the last time I photographed this monument. I've reduced the saturation and kept the tones muted like much of my latest work. I like the angle of the boat more in this picture than my last attempt too

These beach huts are 3 of 10 that sits majestically in the water at high tide almost guarding the coastline.
