Dear all,
As many of you may already know, it's with such deep sadness that we lost our good friend, and studio partner Paul Oldham to his longtime battle, just recently.
As a direct result we will be closing the doors to our wonderful art-space as without Paul, it really wouldn't be the same.
Please be assured that the studio was one of Paul's happy places, a place he found great joy out of being creative, and collaborating with anyone he could.
Both me, and Nick would really like to thank everyone who has supported us and enjoyed time at The Light Room, whether that was as our subject, a photographer, a parent, or friend who came in support - absolutely everyone has been incredible to work alongside.
I'd also really like to thank Paul to the moon and back for the opportunity to be a part of it all, gaining experience of this kind and being his wonderful kind self, understanding and patient all the way - It really wouldn't have happened without him!
One thing is for sure, we will dearly miss our creative partner in crime, and pay our respects by celebrating Paul's life later this week.
We would also like to apologise to anyone who had previously booked the studio, our photography services continue as normal outside of the studio.
Be assured we are doing what we can to cancel or rearrange dates as sympathetically as possible.
Your patience is massively appreciated.
Also, in a bid not to lose what Paul has been the driving force behind, we do aim to keep The Light Room in some form in bringing the collaborative arts together.
And of course, in full support of his original ethos.
Finally, and most importantly, we will deeply miss Paul very much indeed and we aim to remember the magic he brought to the studio, and the good vibes he created and shared freely with everyone he brought together and shared his love for photography with.
We are also fully aware many share the same loss whilst our full respect and love goes out to his wonderful wife and close family.
We have had an absolute mega time here, and we hope to see you catch you soon, however, whenever!
And although we have come to a truly sad end here, we don't regret a single moment we spent here together.
I personally feel so utterly privileged to have spent this time with Paul, getting excited about photography, the arts, the places and people we live amongst, not to mention life's roller coaster ride.
So here's to you, devastated as we all are.
