The Bentley Boys were back, 25 years ago. โช
In 1930, Bentley won their fifth Hours in only the event's eighth running, doing so with a confident 1-2; months later, the Great Depression saw the works racing team disbanded and the company itself collapse into receivership. ๐ The marque returned to Le Mans in 2001 after a 71 year absence with the Bentley EXP Speed 8 in a two car effort, and though the number 7 of Martin Brundle, Stรฉphane Ortelli and Guy Smith suffered a race ending fire, the number 8 finished third overall. ๐ฅ
Drivers Butch Leitzinger, Eric van de Poele and Andy Wallace took to the podium appropriately - in "Bentley Boys" style white suits, goggles and leather racing caps! ๐ฅฝ
