Rana revived my hope, my tastebuds, my everything!

Imagine that you have a sweet tooth. And you like eating out. And you're gluten intolerant. And you’re not the strongest in baking.
🎶 It's me, hi, I'm the problem... EKHEM 🎶

Worst case scenario, you skip pudding. At best... You can usually have a brownie.
Gluten-free ones are available almost everywhere. It is as if someone thinks "GF? I’ll make a brownie". Cool, but when that’s the only thing you can have… well… Enough to say I am not a fan anymore ;)

Until I met Rana. And her GF vanilla, passion fruit, red velvet cupcakes. Her GF chocolate Chip Cookies.

And cakes! God, finally some cakes with buttercream that I can eat.

So you understand, when Rana asked me to take photos for her website, I was overjoyed!
And that I HAD to feature her here in my "Get to know your local businesses" cycle (still working on that name, but you get the gist ;).

We've taken some in-action photos and some portraits. A great combo for a personal brand session when you want to show bits of your personality and professionalism.

And HOW MUCH HEART you put into what you're creating.

I'll choose her cakes over mass-production cakes in a heartbeat.

I've had so much fun watching her decorate a cake, I admired how focused she was baking macaroons despite having me taking photos around.

CHECK HER OUT if you have school-aged kids around the Richmond area because she's teaching kids how to bake all the amazing stuff. I wish I had her around when I was a kid!

I like to imagine myself as a gorgeous and yummy vanilla birthday cake. With buttercream and homemade strawberry jam. And though I love my +1 very much, in this picture he’s the beautiful and sweet cherry on top of this cake :)

What's the most overused phrase out there? I'll vote for: "Stepping out of your comfort zone helps you grow" ;)
Why would anyone like to leave their comfortable comfort zone? Especially in winter. At night. In a crowded place. Any neurodivergent people here? ;)

And yet when I heard about a photo walk organised by the wonderful Women's Business Link London around in Canary Wharf I didn't hesitate.

I take portraits. Usually in daylight or flash.
But lovely people, interesting conversations, fairy lights and mulled wine? Oh, leaving home was so worth it.

I took my DSLR out but trust me when it comes to night photos, the best equipment you can have is already in your pocket - modern mobile phones are AMAZING at taking photos in low light conditions thanks to their wide dynamic range.

So play around with angles, shades and reflections. And don't worry about the blurriness. Be patient. Take your time. Have fun
