The famous and extremely rare .
Leucistic red kites are defined as the complete or partial absence of eumelanin and pheomelanin in one or more feathers, but not in the eyes, bill or feet. This results in white patches in all or part of the plumage.
It is believed that there are only 10 in the world, and 3 have been seen in the Welsh hills.
I was privileged to see 2 of them that have been visitng the for feeding, more pictures of these rare white kites to follow!
