Introducing Mr & Mrs Howes-Smith & Mrs Durrell ! 🫏

Catching up a bit on my social media posts after falling behind due to it being peak wedding season 🤩
Stephen and Lucy were married 9 days ago in Lucy’s local family church, St Mary's in Aldworth in the most gorgeous countryside setting.
Their shared love of baking found its way into their wedding ceremony.
Rev Grant's sermon compared marriage to baking a cake: putting the right & very best ingredients into the mixing bowl, then bringing them together with love and care. Sparkler birthday-cake candles were involved as was an actual cupcake 🎂✨

It couldn’t have been more fitting for Stephen & Lucy who had spent the run-up to their wedding in pursuit of cake perfection, having decided to bake their own wedding cake. No pressure, then!
After the ceremony, everyone headed to the most incredible tipi in the field opposite Lucy’s family home. Guests enjoyed amazing food prepared and cooked by Nyama, followed by fabulous live music from Indi Identity, see Rev G hitting the dance floor with Lucy on the last slide.

A wonderfully personal country wedding, filled with family, thoughtful details and so much happiness. Congratulations, Stephen and Lucy 🎊

Maria & Ryan’s wedding gallery is officially delivered 📦

Going back through this day to put the finishing touches to their photographs reminded me just how much happened in one gloriously sunny wedding day at Rackleys in The Chilterns.

The beautiful details and those quieter moments of anticipation in the morning. Ryan trying (not entirely successfully!) to hold it together. Maria walking into the barn with her dad. The looks between them during the ceremony. Champagne tower, lots of hugs, lots of laughter and a dance floor that definitely didn’t need warming up thanks to the Hype band.

Just when we thought the day couldn’t give us much more, we headed out into the fields overlooking the Chilterns and were treated to the most incredible golden light. ✨

Those few minutes away from everyone are always some of my favourites on a wedding day. Chilling out, no audience, no complicated posing, just a little wander & a chance to take everything in.

This is exactly what I love about photographing weddings at Rackleys. It gives you the big, beautiful backdrop, but also so many photogenic pretty places for the little moments in between & those are often the photographs that become more precious with time.

Maria & Ryan, your story is now winging its way to you in full. I hope reliving it brings back every bit of the happiness, emotion and absolute chaos of the best kind. 🤗

There are always some parts of a wedding that you can't help but get caught up in... and at Sophie & Rory's wedding, it was definitely the speeches.
I enjoyed them so much that I've created a carousel dedicated entirely to some of my favourite moments I photographed.

The speeches are often where the stories are told that remind everyone exactly why they're all together, in that place, on that day.

Some weddings follow tradition. Couples like Hari & Sam rewrite it.

Hari & Sam's beautiful summer wedding at Rackleys Barn was never about doing things the "right" way. It was about doing things their way.
From the very beginning, every decision reflected who they are. The biggest of all was having Hari's brother, Ben, fly all the way from New Zealand to conduct their ceremony. He truly made every word feel that little bit more personal & there wasn't a dry eye in the room.
Their day was filled with colourful wildflower-inspired florals, heartfelt vows, huge smiles, fun & thoughtfully written speeches. Those speeches that have you laughing one minute, then reaching for a tissue the next...

Friday found me returning to the Millhouse hotel at Swallowfield for Christian & Sophie's big day !
This was such a lovely family wedding, with gorgeous sunshine from start to finish. So everyone made the most of the beautiful gardens, garden games and spending time together chilling out in the shade between the celebrations.

Sophie chose a beautiful sky blue colour theme & those gorgeous flowers? They were all created by her very talented mum. 🌸
🎂 Christian also made & iced their lemon & elderflower wedding cake himself...

With Christian's daughter Savannah, their sons Hayden & Alfie & all of their closest family and friends there to celebrate with them, I don't think. Christian & Sophie stopped smiling all day.

🌅 We were spoilt with a gorgeous golden sunset so found some quiet time for evening portraits in the surrounding fields.

I love that Instead of heading straight off on honeymoon, they rounded off the weekend with a family day out at Legoland...

Congratulations again, Sophie & Christian. Thank you so much for asking me to capture such a special day. I can't wait to share the rest of your gallery with you soon.

Some wedding days stay with you long after you've delivered the gallery... and Emily & Ryan's is definitely one of them. 🤍

Their full gallery has just landed in their inbox, but I couldn't resist sharing a few more favourites from their beautiful June wedding at Rackleys Barn in The Chilterns.

It was one of the first proper heatwave weddings of the year. The kind of day that we've enjoyed so may of this Summer, where everyone was searching for a little shade, cold drinks disappeared almost as quickly as they were poured & the golden evening light seemed to last forever.

One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Rackleys is how many beautiful, peaceful little spots are tucked away around the grounds. If you catch the light just right, they're perfect for natural, relaxed portraits without taking couples away from their guests for long.

Ryan & Emily didn't need any posing. We simply wandered together for a few minutes while they chatted, laughed & enjoyed a little time away from the celebrations. Those quiet moments together often become some of my favourite photographs because they feel completely genuine.

But then the energy shifted!
After changing into her evening dress, Emily & Ryan surprised everyone with a second "first dance".
It brought the dance floor back to life. Such a brilliant way to kick start the evening celebrations.
