You don’t tell a cat like Percy where to stand.

You wait.

You watch.

You let curiosity take over.

For a few quiet minutes, the woodland belonged to him. Every rustle demanded his attention. Every blade of grass became cover. Then he looked up for just a heartbeat… and everything came together.

This is why I love photographing animals outdoors. The most memorable portraits aren’t posed—they happen when your pet forgets the camera is even there.

If you’ve ever wanted photographs that capture your companion exactly as they are, I’d love to tell their story too.

Because every pet has a story worth remembering. 🐾📸

🐾 What a wonderful afternoon in the woods! 🌿

Today I met Nicole and David after they won a free pet photoshoot, thanks to a lovely nomination from their friend Steph.

We headed to the beautiful Wolstonbury Woods in Hassocks with their gorgeous Ragdoll, Percy—and what a character he is! Unlike most cats, Percy absolutely loves exploring the woodland on a lead, happily accompanying Nicole and David on their walks.

He was an absolute superstar in front of the camera, curious, confident and full of personality. It’s always a privilege to photograph the incredible bond between people and their pets, and Percy certainly made today’s session one to remember.

I can’t wait to share more images from this beautiful woodland adventure over the coming days. 🐱💚
