This is The Sail Loft just across the links from us in Portsoy. It's now a very tidy and cost effective bunk house for people visiting our picturesque part of Scotland. As the name suggests it was once a busy business making and restoring sails. At one time there was a long shed on the ocean side of the loft which made rope too!

Sometimes black and white is the way to go!

The thing about living on the east coast of Scotland is that Castles are like buses: If you wait long enough several will turn up at once ;)
Some are inhabited or maintained by charitable trusts for the enjoyment of the public. Others are just derelict and now form part of a rural landscape as if they were simply natural features. Whatever their condition they are a delight to see. I saw this one (probably in reality and old farmhouse or a tower house) as I was passing in the car the other day. Fortunately I had my camera with me.

Well they do say photograph what you know.... right? ;)
The ice is a cheat. It's plastic. And the condensation on the bottle is done with a mixture of liquid glucose and water sprayed on after the bottle had a coat of artist's varnish!

This was an exposure blend of eight shots in Photoshop. (I have three lights and it wasn't enough so I had to stack and mask!).
