A rather unusual subject to take a photo of, but the contrast between the pylon and the sky caught my eye and you can see leading lines.

Leading lines are a compositional technique where human-made or natural lines lead the viewer's eyes through a photograph to the subject or the heart of the image.

I think the photo works well in both colour and black and white

Red Kite

I've been hoping for a while to capture this magnificent, graceful bird of prey and today, was that day! Clear blue skies and a short trip out to a local spot and I was lucky enough to finally capture a shot.

Photographing wild birds in flight is not an easy task and this was my first time trying.

This is the first of a quite a few photos taken which I will post over the coming days.
